i could tell you, but i'd have to....
  1. Hello All!....I'm not sure if this has been covered before....but does anyone know if you can get a ticket that covers First and Stagecoach buses + the supertram (for the Sheffield area) ? I can't find anything online but I've been told there is one out there!....thanks :-) ....found it...TravelMaster, on the First website...!
  2. I'm in S6 too...and after reading everyone elses S6 comments - the diversity! S6 is HUGE and so each bit is very different. Though blokey who mentioned the New Cod on the Block and Rajput is spot on - both fantastic! Can also add the Dram Shop to them. And yup...all those 'teeny tiny' Walkley hills, mean you can frequent all and not worry about the weight gain :-). The recent snow showed just how fab my street and neighbours are - proper community help and spirit...lovely. Worst thing is the bloomin' 95 bus - what a load of inefficient nonsense! I was 'driven' to learn to drive as I got so fed up of the service getting worse and worse/more and more expensive. Snow drove me back to the buses (after 4 years) and they are EVEN WORSE...101 number 52s go by while waiting for even one 95 or 123...what on earth is going on with them, used to be one of the best services in the city....grump!
  3. I have just found this forum and it brings memories went in 1949 to 1957 was in 20/21 house parent mr mrs smith my brother Jim and 2sisters barbara/june fred dix. I rememberlineing up with my token for sweets
  4. try the Yoga centre in Walkley. They do great beginners classes...and the age range/ability (bendy!) range is varied...great teachers and gives an understanding of what the positions/stretches are for.
  5. I was in fulwood from 1948/1957 in house 21 my house perants mr mrs smith the 1 person i remember is a girl named ann bell
  6. Having lived in Sheff for 2* (!) years...and attended the odd lecture in the Arts Tower all those decased ago (though none too early in the the morning!)...must say that this is the best it's ever looked...ha ha...just hope they don't 'multi colour' it :-o !
  7. hmm...I have been living away...have now come back to find the dentists have changed...and only noticed because I wondered why the service is now so bad! Totally agree with comments about the receptionists...to the point am going to complain about them. I miss Darren :-(....thanks Charliecat for his new contact number...will definitely give it a go!
  8. ...and yet you are still interested enough to be on the forum ;-).. I am another long termer...arrived in 1986 at the Uni...remember the 'Build Yourself a cardboard Leadmill' in the welcome pack (is anyone else ancient enough to remember that???)...had a mad first week-end and have not wanted to leave since! Still feels like a town with all the trimmings. Have been working abroad for months now - and genuinely look forward to getting back for a while. Only downside is living down a steep hill when it's icy...ooooooops!
  9. I had some American clients over a while ago...they were very impressed with how old the buildings are on Fargate...talk about easily pleased! take them to a few proper pubs and buy them fish and chips!!...or a blasting hot curry!!!
  10. indeed!...I was driven to drive (so to speak) a year ago, and find that I am spending not much more than when I relyed on busses/taxis etc for transport....certainly save about an hour's waiting time each day and get fewer colds! (ha ha) The shame of Sheffield city transport! ..and I actually got my car from Ebay!...brilliant little Ford Ka...nippy and cheap to run, good fun too :-)
  11. I am a member of the Fitness Unlimited too...but think they have a deal now for only £23 a month (so the same as paying to go once a week). Yus can also use Hillsborough pool/gym and the Don Valley gyms too (Hillsborough gym is MUCH better...and Don Valley gets all the rugby players going ;-)...and there's all the classes too, for free. ...may-be worth thinking about that again?
  12. I would definitely recommend (and already have to 3 people) Complete Heating Services for a Corgi registered plumber. Andy came and rescued my hob....turned out to be a really tricky job, but he was great through out. ...and after some of the the 'tradesmen' I have had in my house recently, I am a pretty hard judge! mob - 07854928665 forum name - astirl2809
  13. ...hmmm like to know your opinion if some charmer had tagged your home...and most of the other properties on the street! It's not as if the majority of it makes and sense or is good to look at. Why should we all keep paying for this idiotic 'territorial spraying' to be cleaned up. So I definitely WOULD!
  14. ...may-be they are going so slowly so they can concentrate on their mobile phone conversation - ;-)... ....I know this is frustrating (and can be really inconsiderate to other road users when it's busy)...but a 30 limit is just that...a limit, not a target. I'd rather meet someone doing below the limit, than someone up my a**e bullying me when I am already at the speed limit!
  15. ...think I met him too...tee hee...! ...well I'm 6ft with size 8's....no correlation re: the chart (as am a lady...!)
