  1. Hi there, I think Rileys & Co just off Abbeydale Road are doing a roast dinner on New Years day, and they have a veggie option as well as meat - had it before and it was amazing, give them a call and check (also check they can do vegan)...
  2. Tony Blair is godfather to Rupert Murdoch's youngest child and they were big buddies, so it's probably fair to say he had a bit of help with his media spin at the time.
  3. Had a letter saying they've done some checks and the light is too bright so they're putting a shade on it - result! Out of interest Ian, that's a very nice lamp, not like the usual functional ones - how have you managed to get a nice one? Do you live in a conservation area?
  4. I'm not the best sleeper at the best of times - couldn't sleep with an eyemask on either... Might have to resort to black out curtains if they don't sort it out!
  5. They've recently installed one outside my house and my bedroom's lit up like it's daytime outside - keep waking up thinking it's time to get up and it's only 2am V disconcerting. Have emailed them asking for a shade and/or for them to turn it down, will wait to see what they say.
  6. I'd third that - lovely, rustic food, generous portions, extremely nice staff and cheap as chips - so much so that we always give them a humongous tip 'cause it never seems like enough for all the work they put in! And you can BYO on a Saturday
  7. I thought that too - all the gleeful bargain hunters (me included) tearing about stripping the shelves while they'll all be out of a job soon, but still behaving professionally. Don't know how they did it, they were grace under pressure personified.
  8. I spoke to a member of staff today and he said he had no idea what was going to happen to them, that Sainsbury's haven't said anything, had no job to go to either. Very sad, the people at the Queen's Road branch are some of the best shop staff I've ever come across. Hope they get sorted out soon.
  9. They're all living in the little park behind my house. The trees are full of them, it's amazing standing underneath them - the loud collective hum that surrounds you is quite remarkable Don't know what trees they are but there is a white substance on the leaves which they seems to love... ---------- Post added 30-06-2016 at 08:53 ---------- Me too - nice feeling when they come back to life, shake themselves off and buzz off
  10. Thanks all, having no luck locally - everyone has UPVC these days, apart from bespoke (which I can't afford) so I'm going to have to get it online. Thanks agian.
  11. Hi all, does anyone know where I can get a wooden exterior window sill in Sheffield? It's something like this: http://roncurrie.co.uk/timber/window-boards-sills-cills/softwood-plant-on-sill-cill?products_id=2064:4ac29b63e334a81b1d3a5ad1c8d7b336 I can't see it at any of the usual places - B&Q, Lavers, Screwfix, Wickes etc - and I'll buy it online if I have to but I thought I'd check on here first and see if anyone knows... thanks! Marion
  12. Hi all, I'm wanting to take automatic lessons, can anyone recommend Dennis Oliver? Can't find much recent stuff out about him, but I do appreciate that not everyone lives their lives online
