  1. My bold. Rayner might not be a scrubber but she is a grade A hypocrite. While not a Lab MP at the time, Rayner was a active member & activist for Lab & openly campaigned against the Conservatives' Right to Buy council house scheme. Then promptly goes & buys her council house at a discount, which, as we all know, she went on to sell.
  2. Well she did call Sunak a "Pint size loser' so it'd be nice to hear him at the next PMQ's come back with, "I'll not take advice from the Right Honourable ginger tart opposite, who left school with more kids that qualifications." I'd call it a fair response.
  3. The other side of the road from Debenhams at the bottom of Pinstone St has just been flatted with several retail outlets gone. That doesn't appear to have been a problem. Not seen any complaints.
  4. Just move it to the Arena. Problem solved. You could also have more than two tables for the earlier rounds. It could all be over in a week. Eddie 'Build me a 3,000 seater snooker stadium' Hearn seems to want all his way. Yes, the snooker brings revenue into the city but none of that revenue into MY pocket but it'd be MY council tax (and yours), that'd paying for any new snooker arena, either directly or indirectly via intrest payments from loans taken out by SCC. Let the snooker go. Most people watch it on tv anyway so it doesn't really matter where it comes from.
  5. Much better & spirited display than last Saturday. Yes we shipped in 4 more goals but if Grbic had been in goal, I'd guarantee it:d have he double. Enjoy League 1 Les while we can, he'll be on his way in a few weeks & we'll have Coco in goal to look forward to next season.
  6. I saw an interview with the Mayor of Wimereux, the French coastal town where the boat was launched from yesterday. The Mayor openly blamed the UK & said he found it "Quite bizarre" that the UK pays millions to the French Govt., to try & stop the small boats while at the same time "Openly welcoming any migrants who land on UK shores by giving them houses & jobs." Obviously the latter part is not entirely true but that's the perception of that French politician. As for the police that morning, one of them was also interviewed, (there was only approximately 5 or 6 officers of the to deal with well over 100 migrants & traffickers. The traffickers were armed with sticks & throwing stones & fireworks at the officers), and the interviewed officer stated, they couldn't do any more than they did given people were armed & WE AREN'T ALLOWED TO ENTER THE WATER. So despite the combat boots, French police jurisdiction appears to end just as their toes are about to get wet.
  7. Former Lab Minister, Frank Field has died. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-68887629 Although I didn't agree with a lot of what he stood for he was part of that dying political generation who you could respect & wouldn't think that their political career was just a stepping stone to something more lucrative or future 'celebrity' status on tv.
  8. My bold. Wrong! Aren't FACTS great. https://www.almondfinancial.co.uk/pension-breakeven-index-how-does-the-uk-state-pension-compare-to-the-rest-of-europe/ The UK, 15th out of 30, so mid-table mediocrity.
  9. Correct. Sheffield Theatres are regularly voted the best outside London & internationally stage successes have started their lives at the Crucible. But back to snooker. Reading certain reports it doesn't appear to be Barry Hearn that's wanting to leave Sheffield, although he's continually pushing for the city to build a larger venue suitable for snooker. What you have now is clearly player power starting to push the agenda, influenced by money outside the control of the likes of Hearn from places like Saudi Arabia & China. You've also got players with their own agenda, such as O'sullivan who recently signed a lucrative 3 year deal with the Saudis to take on a sports ambassador role. There's the main reason that O'Sullivan now having a moan. He's getting paid to be a Saudi mouthpiece & he's not going to bite the hand that's feeding him. https://www.skysports.com/more-sports/snooker/news/12243/13117070/could-the-word-snooker-championship-really-leave-the-crucible-for-saudi-arabia
  10. My bold. Can't see that happening this time round especially it some of the Blades players carry over the attitudes they had last Saturday. I'm being realistic & say it's a game we'll lose but let's hope some common sense has prevailed & Grbic is dropped.
  11. Lucas will just be biding her time until she's elevated to the Holy gravy train. She'll be another Lefty / champagne Sociist intent on bringing the HoL down from the inside, just like the Prescott & Blunketts of the world. Mind you, she might be able to drum up a decent custom base for her doula business in the HoL
  12. My bold. End of life doula? That's a new one. I must admit though that she could bore me into taking my own life.
  13. One of SCC's committees were querying AMEY failing to meet targets only the other week. https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/politics/council/amey-blames-bad-weather-for-backlog-of-sheffield-road-repairs-4557508
