Hi, My name is Cassie and I am wondering whether you would be able to help me.
I am currently trying to raise funds for a charity based in the USA. I am aiming to volunteer at Animal Acres later in the year or early 2011. I am planning on creating and attending many fundraising events over the next few months and am looking for sponsors and donations to help raise funds to get volunteers to Animal Acres and to help essential maintenence take place.
I am looking for companies/restaurants/shops/ individuals to consider donating items of interest to myself, to use as part of fundraising for example, auctioning of items, raffles and prizes.
Items can be anything such as:
Electrical items
Vouchers
Holidays/Breaks
Meals for 2
Activity days for the family
Food items
etc. etc.
What is Animal Acres?
Animal Acres was founded by Lorri Houston, who is considered the "pioneer" of the farmed animal sanctuary movement. In 1986, Lorri co-founded Farm Sanctuary, which opened the country's first sanctuary for farmed animals. For 18 years, she directed the group's rescue and fundraising efforts.
Animal Acres is a farmed animal sanctuary and compassionate living center located just 45 minutes from Los Angeles.
Animal Acres works to promote compassionate living through its farmed animal rescue and refuge efforts, public education and outreach, and advocacy projects to prevent cruelty to farmed animals. Since we opened our doors in 2005, thousands of people have visited the sanctuary and learned that farmed animals need protection, and love, too.
The sanctuary is a refuge for animals, and a sanctuary for the soul. Farmed animal sanctuaries are a place where cows, pigs, and chickens reach out and touch the human heart. The "animal ambassadors" gently teach people to extend compassion to ALL beings through one-on-one interaction. For many people, it is the first time they have ever looked into the eyes of pig or chicken, and it can profoundly affect the way people view and treat farmed animals.
