  1. Just how many platforms would require lengthening for a fast Transpennine service stopping only at the major stations longer stations allows longer carriages NO allows more carriages having crossed the London lines south of Stockport the TPE trains takes about 3 minutes longer than the Avanti or Cross country services
  2. The police much prefer to deal with the aftermath than with prevention
  3. What evidence do you have to say cash use is on the increase and over what period. I now use my debit card in supermarkets like Tesco and Asda even if only spending 20p simply because I have got fed up with them constantly getting rid of all their small coins on the self service tills. I don’t want 2x20p and 2x 5p when a 50p coin will suffice.
  4. As long as the council are not funding it then I have no objection. i wonder if the council has any containers that they could sell to the developers
  5. I avoid if I can and you are both correct a nightmare. Not even a sensible left filter
  6. All very well if they have a licence in the first place.
  7. Sorry about the source but https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10006185/London-council-scraps-SEVEN-low-traffic-neighbourhoods-failing-improve-air-quality.html
  8. What studies are you referring to. Sheffield studies or others. Certainly there are well documented cases where significant knock on problems have occurred as well as problems for emergency vehicles
  9. Doubt it you can still pay with credit card if parents with them. Also not so long ago that they increased the price by 25%
  10. For some time now Supertram were advertising that you don’t need cash to travel
  11. Is there any evidence to support the case that the new mob know how to run the service efficiently and within budget because unless they are going to bring in transportation expertise from outside then sorry it won’t happen. I agree though that our local politicians will meddle and interfere likely with costly implications
  12. Did they not build a temporary station at Workington north after flooding in a few days at a cost of under a quarter of a million with over 2000 passengers a day using it. yes you can build a station cheaply , if you want but why bother when no one questions you. bet nothing like 2000 will use the station every day, have they published how many users they expect to use the new station? If not they should so they can be held accountable
