I have resorted to covering troubled areas with bark chippings but I managed to get some red / terracotta coloured stuff from B&Q and I think it looks nice. -
Give them a good feed and that might help aswell.

Many many years ago Atkinsons in Sheffield used to have the most amazing ice cream bar. I know they still have a café upstairs but not sure if they still do them or infact to the same standard!! -

I think you would have to follow their official complaints procedure before you were to ask any governing body to help you. 5 months does seem an awfully long time.
