Hiya, all.. i was just looking at some old photos of my youth in sheffield and came across a few people that i`ve lost contact with, do you know these old friends of mine Anthony (tony) Brears, Wayne Palmer, Zaffa ali, Paul Butler, Eddie Litherland and Gary Coxon (Cocko).. i hav`nt seen or heard from these long lost friends for over 30 yrs. it would be great to catch up with them, here`s my email daveandgigi1@netzero.com thanx and have a great day, cheers Dave
  2. Back in the late 60s, early 70s, did`nt Darnall, have a scout troop, i remember seeing them leading the whitsun parade to high hazels park ??? or was i in a, something induced, other place.... cheers dave
  3. scouts was located in a church which i understand has gone now on the intersection of darnell, forgot the name, we used to have band practice in the church hall happy dayz
  4. were you in the scouts ?? Tony Brears was the scout leader, great guy, broke all the rules, great guy i was in the band and played the side drum then the big bass drum with the big animal skin on me chest i would bang that thing for hours, totally knackered at the end of a parade
  5. you all just gave me happy flash backs thanx high hazels was my local park, born in darnell,moved to handsworth age 10 i was in the darnell 2nd scout troop, we led the parades to the park on whit sundays. also the sleding down camel back hill wwwhheeee now umpity years on golden gate park is my local. cheers dave
  6. for the first time in 14yrs, a frey bentos steak and kidney pie, the whole thing and i gotta say, WOW bloody magic .. i wish it was crimble everyday. it was one of my gifts, mmmmmmm aahh the simple things in life are the best...
  7. born in sheffield, left sheffield age 21, been back 3 times in 20yrs. i miss certain things and family/friends, but i could`nt live there anymore had a great 21yrs growing up there, bought the yorkshire/sheffield smarts over the pond and have had an amaizing 20yrs here,snotty nose scruffy urchin from darnell driving/meeting tony blair and 100s of others who`da thunk....... happy christmas to you all. cheers dave

  10. i have one daughter unplanned... at 9 months of age i told her mom to leave/getout, she did, and here we are 6yrs later wow, what a trip being a single parent is extra hard work,more sacrifices etc, but the payoff is amazing. i will admit to wanting the world to stop every now and again just so i can get off for a bit. would`nt know what to do if it did.. happy christmas
  11. hi rage yep its a little better than sheffield 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and so on. best time to move to s.f is after a earthquake, prices go down, people leave...... bring it on mama
  12. just so you have an idea,, i have a 2 bedroom 1 bath appt in san francisco and i pay $1750.00 per month, i hate writing that check on top of that gas/elec/phone i can not afford to be ill i owe i owe its off to work i go cheers dave
