  9. Hi Rita, sorry to hear of your parents passing away, and Georgie, my father passed away 23 years ago and my mother died 3 years ago. You were right about their names and my brothers name is Melvyn, he lives in Halfway. We have a younger brother called Michael and he was born when we moved to the Littledale estate so you wont know him. I cant remember the times when we all went to my nans but your description of the garden etc is correct. Tom was a Carbrook lad but we never met while we were both in the east end, it was a few years later at the Cutlers Hall saturday night dance. He was doing his national service and in 1960 we married and I moved to Crookes where we have been ever since. Hope you are keeping well and its nice to hear from you..take care, Maureen
  10. Hi Rita, yes its the same Maureen Beeley and she remebers you quite well. She asks if you can recall the walks around Fox House with her mum and dad and having a great time. The highlight being a plate full of egg and chips on returning home, happy days. She wishes you well and hope you and your family are keeping in good health..Tom

  13. my wife Maureen lived at 19 Clay Street and remembers Maggie and Mary Andrews at No. 17. One used crutches and the other one worked for Bassets and she would reward us with a handful of misshapes for errand duties. At 21 lived the Wheeldan family, after them Mary and Tom Vickers with their elderly father lived at the cobblers shop. Other names I can remember are from Maltby Street school, Terry Wadsworth, Tommy Smith, Joe Smith, Sadie Peaker (my pal), Doreen Gelsthorpe, Pauline Travis, Brian Platts (panto fame), Brian Beumont, Ronald Dennison, Frank Smith, twins Rita and Georgie Shemeld and Ann Whitiker....fond memories
