  1. whatever happens to the Millhouses and the Waggon down the road its going to be interesting to see who picks up the lions share of the trade, maybe one should be a pub for all the roisty toisty blokey types putting the world to right, spit and sawdust and the other could be a nice place to go with family and friends, we will see which is which soon.
  2. i will second that, brilliant place, the dim sum is great once you get the hang of cooking it, some really unusual items.
  3. Agreed, but I know which I would prefer, ten drinkers on pints or ten diners on starters ,mains, sweets, coffees oh and some drinks!
  4. Well just to enlighten you the margins in food is way way above the margin on pub drinks so as businessmen you would know which route gives you the best bottom line ??
  5. To be fair the millhouses is set out to be a food establishment first with comfortable surroundings for dining? It's not the best atmosphere when there is a loud group drinking and swearing in one corner ? I have been there when this group of lads is in which is most nights , I wouldn't want to eat with my family in that atmosphere. Maybe wether spoons would be better for them ?
  6. or total or windsors or hopwells or delice de france, the list is endless just about any catering operation wether they are a pub chain or fancy gastro 2 star Michelin outlet use these guys to a greater or lesser extent, its not what you buy or where you buy it that is the problem its the people putting it together that screws it up. this place could do really well if the offering is put together properly and served properly in a good atmosphere, dont make it so cheap that its full of idiots, keep the prices and the offering reasonably upmarket and the quality spend families & locals will come back.
  7. I agree entirely that's why a cheap menu offering and cheap beer won't work here, attracts the wrong clientele , they need to take a look at the Dore Moor pub always full and fairly consistent quality not cheap as chips but good value and it keeps the oiks and chavs away.
  8. Blimey !!!! Wether spoons hardly the clientele the waggon and horses need
  9. its a shame Pesto didnt make the grade, too much dining area and not enough for a casual drink, used to enjoy sitting outside with a glass or two of vino or a beer with some nibbles in the sun. if the new operation listens to people, good quality food not cheap" 2 for a tenner" garbage and a seperate drinking area on the right as you go in and it might just work.
