It's definitely a bit odd if not just plain incompetence. The gritters I saw were all fully loaded but not laying down any grit, just ploughing the same stretch of road repeatedly, which DID allow me to move my car from where it was stranded to be fair so I am thankful for that at least!

Is there a reason the roads aren't being gritted? There were several gritters about this afternoon but they were only ploughing not gritting

They are utterly pointless. A token gesture with no practical purpose. There are plenty of nearby pavements which get far more foot traffic and yet there are no barriers installed. And you don't catch covid from walking past somebody in the street anyway which shows how ridiculous it is.

It's always seemed strange to me that a city the size of Sheffield only seems to have one "tip" usable by the ordinary public. I grew up in the NW in a town of 25K people and that had and still has it's own tip!

Does anyone know what the local bylaws are in Sheffield in respect to this? The Lib Dems currently have signs up around their offices on the corner of Manchester Rd and Tapton House Rd. I believe in some parts of the UK such signs may only be displayed during an election campaign but am curious if this applies in Sheffield.

She doesn't seem very bright. Thankfully it still is not illegal to criticise religion in this country, even Islam. In amongst the foul language that is all he was doing initially and I didn't hear him saying anything racist. Indeed and no Derbyshire police trying to fleece the motorist. They'd rather set up camp on the A57 in the only real safe overtaking spot and catch people breaking the speed limit for a few seconds to overtake the 40mph brigade.
