  1. My bold. Wrong! Aren't FACTS great. https://www.almondfinancial.co.uk/pension-breakeven-index-how-does-the-uk-state-pension-compare-to-the-rest-of-europe/ The UK, 15th out of 30, so mid-table mediocrity.
  2. Correct. Sheffield Theatres are regularly voted the best outside London & internationally stage successes have started their lives at the Crucible. But back to snooker. Reading certain reports it doesn't appear to be Barry Hearn that's wanting to leave Sheffield, although he's continually pushing for the city to build a larger venue suitable for snooker. What you have now is clearly player power starting to push the agenda, influenced by money outside the control of the likes of Hearn from places like Saudi Arabia & China. You've also got players with their own agenda, such as O'sullivan who recently signed a lucrative 3 year deal with the Saudis to take on a sports ambassador role. There's the main reason that O'Sullivan now having a moan. He's getting paid to be a Saudi mouthpiece & he's not going to bite the hand that's feeding him. https://www.skysports.com/more-sports/snooker/news/12243/13117070/could-the-word-snooker-championship-really-leave-the-crucible-for-saudi-arabia
  3. My bold. Can't see that happening this time round especially it some of the Blades players carry over the attitudes they had last Saturday. I'm being realistic & say it's a game we'll lose but let's hope some common sense has prevailed & Grbic is dropped.
  4. Lucas will just be biding her time until she's elevated to the Holy gravy train. She'll be another Lefty / champagne Sociist intent on bringing the HoL down from the inside, just like the Prescott & Blunketts of the world. Mind you, she might be able to drum up a decent custom base for her doula business in the HoL
  5. My bold. End of life doula? That's a new one. I must admit though that she could bore me into taking my own life.
  6. One of SCC's committees were querying AMEY failing to meet targets only the other week. https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/politics/council/amey-blames-bad-weather-for-backlog-of-sheffield-road-repairs-4557508
  7. 5th placed in Div 1 Barnsley sack their manager with one game left. https://www.bbc.com/sport/articles/cp9gkg71gwyo The timing seems a bit strange?
  8. I must admit when I read about O'sullivan basically complaining about having to pass through a few fans, yes fans, (the people that put you on that pedestal you're now looking down on them from), the food & facilities, all I can think is bless his little prissy heart. Anyway, I thought the players had their own nutritionists as part of the background team. Tell O'sullivan to bring his own sarnies. As for the other bloke moaning; who he? I never heard the likes of Steve Davies complain when he used to walk through the city centre streets from his hotel. I never saw Willie Thorn complaining when I saw him in the bookies on Fitzalan Square & people wanted to chat to him about snooker & Eddy Charlton was always happy to shoot the breeze with people in Nether Edge, when he used to live in the Fountside apartments during the tournament. Anyway, its clear that there a bit of momentum amongst the players here to complain & moan enough so that the Crucible contract isn't renewed beyond 2027. Let them go elsewhere. I know it was mooted that a new larger facility could be built somewhere in tbe city centre. I'm not sure what the seating capacity would have to be to satisfy the snooker organisation but there's no guarantees that they would actually stay in the city so I wouldn't build such a facility on the off chance. If it's size they are after, move the wholeot to the Arena. At the end of the day I'd just call it a day & let them move the snooker circus on.
  9. I must admit, I had to look this up. It's 'Sid's Snake'. It was usually on the front page of Whizzer and Chips. Can't remember any of the other characters. I guess they aren't as memorable as 'Korky the Cat', 'Desperate Dan', 'Dennis the Menace', 'The Bash Street Kids' or 'Lord Snooty:?
  10. I've noticed this moaning about playing extra games, (only in the domestic cup games) or fixture congestion / playing over tbe Xmas & New Year period, appears only to becoming from the likes of Arteta, Guardiolla & Klopp. Well you knew what the English Premiership was all about when you decided to embrace it & take the top money that goes with it. I seem to remember each of them being intervieww & telling people how they were looking forward to the challenge of managing a Premiership side. I've never heard them moan about the number of games they have to play in the various European cup competitions. Case in point last night after Man City won their FA Cup semi. Guardiolla moaning that apparently an early round of the Carabao Cup is scheduled to take place on the same night as one now expanded Champions League rounds. So it's European action over domestic then for Pep.

Notts Forest accuse VAR ((Luton Town fan), official, Stuart Attwell of bias. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11727/13120314/nottingham-forest-accuse-var-stuart-attwell-of-being-a-luton-fan-after-defeat-at-everton Forest apparently denied penalties by Attwell.
  12. Not true. AMEY have ended up paying back money to local authorities. Birmingham City Council had a similar agreement to SCC. https://www.publicsectorexecutive.com/Public-Sector-News/amey-to-pay-birmingham-city-council-300m-to-exit-25-year-highways-maintenance-contract
