I saw on a post somewhere recently that Mr Iosson, who I had in my last year at GCS in 1970/71was still around a couple of years ago, 5 years off his century, that teacher was one of the best. -

Hey all those who left in 1976 we are looking to hold a reunion, catch up on old times. We have postings on Friends reunited to register your interest, it's free these days to be on there, also you can find me via Face book or reply here. We are also extending this to those who left in 1975 and 1977 or those from the year 76 that went on to two years of sixth form... After 15 1/2 years away from Uk and 17 1/2 years since I was in Sheffield seemed like a good idea to get something organised. Date set for this is Saturday 25 September... Let me know which ever way.... I have Glen Ashley, Lynne White (nee Bradbury) and Shullie (Gail) Horsefield-Porter in UK also helping organise this... I haven't been i here for a few years, but will be checking in regularly now.. if you are looking for me on FB its griffin-chappel now. -

Hi Gail I have tried on so many occasions to get in touch with people via the Friends united site, but never get a reply. So here I am trying this I only found it by pure chance last week when trying to show my NZ wife places in Sheffield. We have been married 1 year now and have three children, twin boys 3 and daughter 2. Its funny, but until I read the names of the teachers I had forgotten most of them. -

Toasted tea cakes, picklets by the fire, sledging in winter, pub crawls round Bakewell on market day starting at 6am. The Pheonix pub on white lane, weekly swims at pond street baths ............. oh childhood memories, but after leaving now for 22 years and only visiting once since ..... so I guess I don't miss anything that much ....mum stills sends out the HP fruity and the farleys rusks, sadly great fish and chips don't travel well .....but me kiwi wify does best she can -

What about Charlie Peace and the State Boys. Once played the City Hall, even if it was down stairs for college ball -
My father worked at Laycocks in the mid 70's I remember we went to the christmas party in the canteen, had to go up to santa and got a jigsaw as a present two years on the trot

Well after sitting here for an hour reading through all this thread, isn't it amazing where we all end up. Strange that this suddenly stops back in April. Gail Horsefield gave away as to who I am so will be good to hear from any one out there who remembers the bowie freak (yup still am). Good to hear Mr. Tingle you are still well. Lynne Whitehouse (nee Bradbury) and Bob (hubby) came out this way a couple of years ago not long after my twin boys where born, I now have 5great kids in total, who would have thought. So where is everyone now. I've heard from Morrell, Glen Ashley, Diane Smith and Paul Richardson to name a few over the years.
