  1. May be take a virtual stroll around the villages on instantstreetview and see if anything looks familiar but do let us know if you find it..
  2. You might look here but without an actual date it might be impossible. Good luck https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk
  3. What make is your hearing aid? I have a right opticon opticare hearing aid which you can have if this is the make you need. It belonged to my late father.
  4. I came across this today. Obviously not as good as being able to access traffic cams in real time but better than nothing. https://twitter.com/sccstreetsahead
  5. This looks like it might be the original planning application https://planningapps.sheffield.gov.uk search for reference 03/02157/FUL I am not familiar with the building myself and there are multiple plans on the site so I can't be more specific but this might point you in the right direction. Hope this helps.
  6. If you go to the Lego Store at Meadowhall when it is quiet they will feel the minifigure bags and tell you what is in them. They also maintain boxes of identified minifigures and will sell you the whole set without risking doubles. They have done this for my son.
  7. Is anyone having trouble accessing the Sheffield Star website? I haven't been able to get on it for over a week now.
  8. He cant afford NOT to have a solicitor! Some solicitors will set up payment plans. My brother in law opted not to have a solicitor and he lost 95% of his £300,000 mortgage free house with nothing when his two children are 18 despite only having been with her for 6 years and him bringing all the wealth to their marriage. They had nil savings. He kept only his pension. Very foolish but his choice.
  9. Just a couple of thoughts. Perhaps you could separate them with a child or dog safety gate to give your older dog a break. Also we were advised when re-homing our 2nd Labrador to always let the newer dog into the house first to avoid territory fights. This seemed against my natural instincts but apparently by treating the aggressor as the dominant dog i.e feeding him first, stroking him first etc you are essentially supporting the natural order of the pack and there is less stress and aggression all around.
  10. Although this is an internet and not local firm I can highly recommend them. http://www.tailor4less.com/ You could use even use their website to play around with a few ideas and then shop local.
  11. I also can recommend MATREC. I know several people who have been there and been thrilled with the tuition and the welcome they received.
  12. Does anyone know if there is any free parking at pond street post office when you are collecting a parcel?
  13. Yes definitely a lift in far left corner. Small and old but definitely there.
  14. This website below might be of interest. Cafe is run by volunteers with learning difficulties. Another option is a local library. Many are being run by volunteers at present. http://www.workltd.org.uk/five-star-sheffield-cafe-really-hidden-gem
  15. We also haven't bought any wood for the last 5 years. It is easy to come by but requires space to store, organisation and disciplined work sometimes at inconvenient moments to take advantage of the free wood available not to mention the chopping and sawing. But nothing compares to the rosy glow of free heat. We use two hand fulls of paper from the shredding machine and 2 small rolls of brown corrugated cardboard from boxes which you can tie with string (we use an steel ring) under some twigs to get the fire going in seconds - so no firelighters even. In fact the only cost is matches.
