  1. I was expecting the child fare to rise from 70p to 80p in April tbh, it won't be long before it's half fare like most of the country. Even so the day and week tickets that are done for children aren't bad value, I know First do them at £2 and £5 but not sure on other operators
  2. I went to Aston once last year and the road down isn't very good but unfortunately a lot of places you can go fishing have a similar problem, both commercials and rivers/canals/drains (which is what I tend to stick too)
  3. Either running out of the depot, returning to the depot at the end of the duty, returning to the depot defective or the bus has been readjusted to another timepoint due to lateness
  4. Yes that's right although the system is not in place any more. It was for buses on certain routes generally and they were meant to be checked for vandalism after returning to the depot and had any vandalism repaired.
  5. Because it isn't an Optio ticket, it's a Stagecoach ticket. In the same way that you couldn't go and spend an Asda voucher in Tescos.
  6. I wonder why that is, if they weren't well used then they would cut the frequency. Also note that there are 2 operators both running on the 52, if there wasn't a demand they wouldn't do it.
  7. Hmm... I wonder why the grit bins are empty! Perhaps people are eating it.
  8. No, it doesn't work. It was done when the (ex) Rotherham and Doncaster Olympians arrived from London about 7/8? years ago and all of them had the centre doors removed after entering service, although they were not done as well as these recent cascades. There is some right rubbish in this thread, the oldest buses in Sheffield are R reg (which is not that old compared with other UK bus operations) but most of Sheffield's fleet is now repainted and looking presentable and there have been a lot of newer buses cascaded in to replace the old scrappers.
  9. Stop blocking, what about Stagecoach 120s on Arundlegate?? They leave AG when they should CBS, 32s could never get onto the stand. I used to think every time I went to Sheffield there was a Stagecoach broke down outside TJHughes! What about most Stagecoach 19s in Rotherham blocking the whole interchange of? That was down to not being able to park the bus on the stand which is straight - incompetence.
  10. Those stops they wait at are timepoints and if they want to keep their job they don't leave them early.
  11. Yes Sheffield is full of moaners, that's why. Anyway First in Chester and Wirral isn't First operation any more, it was sold to Stagecoach and the handover took place on 13/01/2013. ---------- Post added 14-01-2013 at 23:38 ---------- Oooh no, by doing that they would lose out on one of their favourite moaning topics. ---------- Post added 14-01-2013 at 23:40 ---------- Considering the adverse weather conditions... Certainly in Rotherham this morning the traffic was bad, I assume it was similar in Sheffield. Buses don't have wings, they get caught in it just like all the cars which happens to make them late!
  12. It's another one of those threads... "I bet a group of young children could run the bus service better!" - instead of just talking rubbish on here why don't you complain to First?
  13. You can't do it from Sheffield now. Go to Rotherham Interchange and you want a bus off stand A7 (10/27/29) or get the 27 from Crystal Peaks towards Rotherham, depending where it is you're coming from
