Thank you so much, much appreciated. The issue I have today is that the landline broke 2 days ago (loud crackling) and they had me test for 1 hour my telephone set and I knew all along it was the line. No way should this have taken 1 hr plus a 1 hr chat online when all that was needed was to send out an engineer. Today no call back from an engineer as promised and no landline...frustrated...DO NOT USE VODAFONE FOR LANDLINE EVER!!!!
-
Broadband without a physical landline, if that is possible PLUS a UK based customer service. A company must exist...
-
But does it state where the customer service hub is?...usually not which is why i need humans here not google...thank you

I need advice re a landline and Internet. Does anyone know of any company that avoids the landline. I'm currently with Vodafone and the customer service is absolutely shocking and cringeworthy fake. I've determined that the online chat support is in India and the technical support is in Doha, Qatar . After being on chat for 1 hr with India then 1 hr with Qatar I give up . I need a new Internet provider with a UK based customer service which avoids the landline. Any help appreciated guys.

I have a few Sheffield facts from my dad who knew him in his youth. He passed his 11+ and got into Firth Park School but got expelled quite soon and ended up living away from his parents on Catherine St with other family members in Pitsmoor. As a kid he worked in a bread van and got his first taste of earning money. My dad said he had strange goofy teeth and was not a looker but was nice, his brother Jeff however was very handsome. His first club was Days Dancing which became Mojos in Toll Bar/Pitsmoor. His first scoop was hiring the Beatles in 62 and the venue was too small so he moved it from St Aidens Church Hall to White Lane. This then was the BIG TIME....hope you got an insight...RIP Peter, God bless. ps I once went to Stringfellows in London and asked as I was from Sheffield could I come in for free..they let me and fella in for free...big respect.

Dockless bike sharing scheme to launch in Sheffield
St Tropez replied to WalkleyIan's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Google 'Lime Bikes' in Key Biscayne Florida, just been there and tried their docking bikes (cool green bikes with limes on). The whole system/infrastructure works like a dream...pity Sheffield doesn't have a beach cycle route...or a beach come to that! -
Hi all, I am searching for an old friend called Pierre Fieldhouse. I know he originated from the Wybourn area and has a sister but that is it. He would be between 50-55 years old now. Please PM me if you can help me find him. Finder gets reward a BIG one!!!!

My daughter is in need of some chicken wire for a craft project, but she only needs a metre or two.....does anyone know where she can get some? We know the DIY stores sell them but only by the roll which is too much, Thanks
-
Hi all, I am after some barbed wire for a craft project and apart from not being able to carry a standard 6-10 m roll I only need about a metres worth. Does anyone know where I can get a small offcut from (unused free of chicken ****)? Thanks folks

Hi all, Does anyone in the Sheffield area know someone who can put waxed cement in a new bathroom (Floor/walls & ceiling)? I saw it in a hotel I stayed in, in France and have the details/photos but cannot find any local builder that can actually do it..it can't be that unusual surely? Any help appreciated..

Workmen accidently cut phone cable advice needed
St Tropez replied to St Tropez's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Thanks for all you replies, good people! -
I live on a street that had the phone cable cut by council workmen accidently (Amey council workers tut tut). Openreach/BT (whoever) came on 20May and now they say that they are awaiting a further contractor to do the work/dig up the road and it will be not until 4June. So all in all 16 days assessing, re-assessing, faffing and still the entire street do not have phones/WIFI. There has been a death, people are on heart monitors through wifi and people cannot work from home but they do not seem to care. So does anyone else know of the Sheffield Openreach/BT office location where I can go and speak to a human to sort this out. I am sick and tired of calling India and getting half an answer. Any help appreciated folks ps Is there any ombudsman for this sort of issue?

Neighbour using wheelie bin
St Tropez replied to stillonhere's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
The person is obviously of low intelligence, with these people the only thing that works in the end is to leave, the next phase will be finding her in the middle of you and the hubby..insanity in the community is common place now hence why intelligent people have already left the country! -
