  14. Grenoside Pantomime Section proudly presents “Beauty and the Beast” at Grenoside Community Centre, Main Street, Grenoside, S35 8PN. For our 42nd production, we present the story of Beauty and the Beast. The original story was written in 1740, which is almost quarter to six, but our version is a little more up to date. The original French author, for example, completely omitted Dame Patty Potty, the bewildered castle cook. And Beauty’s father, the dotty professor, who invents a Beautification Upgrade Mechanism (BUM for short). And what about the two fast-talking salesmen, always on the look-out for a profitable opportunity. Add to this a hiss-able baddie who wants to marry Beauty, a glamorous enchantress, and a fearsome Beast with a soft heart, and the stage is set for two hours of comedy, chaos, audience participation, music and dancing. And did I mention the enchanted Clock and Candlestick? Or the custard pies? Or the dancing horse? And does Beauty fall in love with the Beast so all ends happily? Of course she does! Performances are as follows: Friday 27th January 7.30pm Saturday 28th January 2pm and 7.30pm Thursday 2nd February 7.30pm Friday 3rd February 7.30pm Saturday 4th February 2pm and 7.30pm Ticket prices : Adults £8.00 Concessions £6.00 Family ticket (2+2) £24.00 For Tickets call 0114 2468937
