  3. Resurrection - Bank Holiday Sunday 20th April - The Leadmill Main Room : '89-'99 Indie, Britpop, Madchester. Resurrection aims to bring back to life the musical greatness of the 89-99 era of UK Indie and Club culture. In the main room of Sheffields historical 1000 capacity landmark music venue, The Leadmill, we will delve into the eleven years that heralded the defining era of Britpop, Madchester and Alt Rock. In April 1989, the Stone Roses released their eponymous debut album and changed the musical landscape of the UK almost overnight, giving birth to a music genre which would becom e known as Madchester, which infused elements of traditional guitar music with the the new and exciting Acid House culture that was emerging through the seminal Haçienda nightclub in Manchester. Artists such as the Happy Mondays, James, The Charlatans and Inspiral Carpets emerged from Manchester in the same period, along with other UK bands with similar influences such as Primal Scream and and The Farm. Fast forward five years to April 1994 and Sheffield band Pulp release the critically acclaimed His n Hers , just as the exciting new Britpop scene gets into full swing with Blur's Parklife and Oasis's Definitely Maybe becoming two of the biggest selling albums that year. The Britpop era lasted through most of the 90s with hit releases by bands such as Elastica, Ocean Colour Scene, Suede & Supergrass, not forgetting the massive follow-up releases by Pulp, Blur and Oasis in 1995. This music was the soundtrack to Cool Brittania, otherwise characterised by a booming economy, football fever as England hosted Euro 96 and the success of British films such as Trainspotting, Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels and The Full Monty, not to mention a seismic shift in the balance of political power. For one night only this golden era of music and the spirit of that time will be recreated in the Leadmill main room, but thats not all... Room 2: Old Skool Club Classics In Room 2 we celebrate the other musical phenomenon of the the 89-99 era. The explosion of dance music in all its forms! Were not going to strictly stick with any one genre here, what we will deliver is an exciting variety from the Acid House of 89 to the euphoric Trance of 99 mixed in with as many house, garage, rave, hip-hop and commercial dance hits as we can possibly squeeze in! Expect to hear club bangers from artists such as Prodigy / Faithless / Chemical Brothers / Technotronic / Snap! / Robin S / N-Trance / Baby D / Urban Cookie Collective / Corona / Artful Dodger / JX / Livin Joy / Armand van helden / Stardust / Underworld / De La Soul etc Drinks Deals £2 Red Stripe £2Gaymers £3.50 Double Premium Vodka Mixer 60p Shots of Sambuxo / Lixx Tickets Buy tickets in advance from http://theleadmill.seetickets.com/Event/resurrection-bank-holiday-sunday/the-leadmill-club/778580 to avoid queues and guarantee entry. 9. I found last night's "XL deepstack" to be a tad dissapointing. The blinds move up rapidly (every 20 minutes) in quite a steep manner. Of the 31 entrants, 21 still remained when the blinds were 1200/600 with antes coming into play from a very early stage too, at this point the avg stack was only around 22,000. Basically the first 2 hours saw a minimal amount of chips change hands and then all of a sudden all hell breaks loose. Do all your games have such a steep blind progression? Or just Wednesdays?

  11. Try SAS (Steves Airport Service). He's taken me to Wembley before, price was agreeable! 07976664484.
  12. Due to the one way system the meter can be on £5 before I've left the town centre which is quite annoying, but thats not your fault. Would be good if you had a small rank at centretainment. After a trip to the cinema, the last thing I want to do is wait at a freezing cold tram stop for 20 minutes.
  13. Be great to see you there dude, re-creating the glory days!
  14. I'm getting pretty excited about this event now! So many good tunes to potentially play, but I'm going to be ruthless with my track selection, only the best of the best will even be considered!
