  1. High Storrs' annual Christmas Fayre is coming on Saturday 7th December 11-4! You can expect a fabulously festive shopping experience, with entertainment and fun for the whole family. Alongside our huge market hall for all your Christmas shopping needs, this year we will also be featuring our Eco Market area too - all plastic free and sustainable products. We will also have student entrepreneurs selling their wares for the Big Challenge programme. As always, we will be entertained by the wonderful sounds of Dodworth Colliery Brass Band as we shop. Food and drinks will be available, games and crafts, and Father Christmas may also be paying us a visit! Entry is just ÂŁ2 per adult, and children go free. All money raised goes straight back into the school fund to help make the school even better in the future.
  2. All former students and staff of High Storrs School are invited to come back to school for a special event just at school! We are very excited to have started planning this year’s fully inclusive High Storrs reunion – The High Storrs Homecoming - on Saturday 29th June. Following the huge success of last year’s first ever Homecoming, we have increased the capacity and look forward to organising an equally, and if not better, event for this year! With 300 attendees last year we sold out and were having to turn people away, so please don’t leave getting your ticket until the last minute. What was particularly nice in 2018 was the Alumni who came in groups of old friends, so why not consider getting the old gang together and making a day of it? Priced at just £15.00 the event is shaping up to be a fabulous day and your entry includes: • An alcoholic or non-alcoholic welcome drink from the professional bar which will be operating all afternoon selling cocktails, local beers and wines • A delightful afternoon tea of sandwiches, homemade cakes, tea & coffee • The freedom to wander the school and look in classrooms, as well as exploring the new buildings and grounds. With the £33m pound refurbishment in 2011, you’ll be amazed at how your school looks now! • Entertainment from our current students • Speeches by former students and staff • A chance to “meet the teacher” with teacher and year heads gathering to chat with you • A wide range of displays of photographs from across the years (see below to see how you can add to this) • And of course, up to 500 former students and former teachers meeting at High Storrs for an afternoon of nostalgia and memories Some of the feedback we had from Alumni who attended last year was really heart-warming. "Thanks to everyone involved for a very interesting and fun afternoon. I've avoided reunions in the past, but this event was truly enjoyable and I look forward to next year's!" "I wanted to send you a quick note to thank you-and indeed to congratulate you- for a most enjoyable “Homecoming experience” yesterday. It was wonderful to return once more to High Storrs and to find it a truly remarkable vibrant and happy community." "We thought that your informal programme was perfect and the three hours whizzed past. The old boys and girls who didn’t attend missed a treat. Perhaps some of them can be encouraged to attend next time..."
