Reply for Steve cave. City front modes were started in September 1982 by myself and Gary smith, dale Lyles was the next followed by Oliver salmon, we knocked about for , maybe 6 months and lot more young mods joined off passing busses etc, rob cave knocked about with us as he joined Our school in September 83 (Norfolk) from Nottingham . Mezzy came off the fair in late 83 and that's when you came along Steve as your young brother had told you about it.shimmy also appeared around that time as he was dales sister Kellys boyfriend. Shimmy mates Benny poffa Mick saggy balls, smedley, and many others also appeared then but the city front mods had been going long before that. just thought id jog a few rose tinted memories for people. hi karl otter here remember it well i was the first one about 1981 then my mate gary smith became a mod then dale lyles aka chicken followed by oliver salmons ozzie we gat a right lot of hassle as you can imagine off local skins, then lots of younger mods appeared or became interested now about 1983 and a new enemy the trendies arrived aswell before we knew it quite a crowd ouyside the carsboro sound centre, i got a scooter about 84 and started to do scooter rallies which i still do today with old mate greg. weirdly enough gus from the city front has contacted me and hes got a scooter and reliving his youth aswell. i now live in nottingham but in sheffield every weekend, any one who knows me stop by and say hello, who knows we could even have a revival:
