  1. Have you ever tried to follow the subtitles? They are a waste of time. I also had many scraps with people taking the micky out of deaf people.
  2. Both my parents were deaf so learned to sign at a early age. I also taught a mate back in the 60's the basic sign alphabet he picked it up in less than 2hrs. I have always said it should have been taught to kids when they first started school. Sadly both my parents are long gone and I haven't used sign language for a long time.
  3. I think its a brilliant it should have been done years ago.
  4. I had a friend who lived on Randall Street back in the 60s, Name of Walker (Billy). Lost touch early 70s.
  5. Wards was a good pint. It depended what pub you was in. The Richmond on the Woodthorpe in the 70's and the Hawk and Dove same in the 70s. The landlords made the difference in the beer.
  6. South Street Park district before Parkhill was built.
  7. I lived on Waterthorpe and Gleesons built our house don't if any other contractors were involved.
  8. Hello gaz. I knew Alan very well he taught me how to swim, I was at the Park baths on City road. Did you know Tim Lomas? He used to partner Alan when they was a tag team wrestling called the silent ones. Tim lived on the Woodthorpe and went in the Richmond Hotel. I haven't seen Alan for many years now hope he is well. Regards Alan
  9. Did someone calld Eric Boot drive the van around 1965/66?
  10. My son went to see him in Scarborough a couple of weeks ago, he said it was a really good night.🙂
  11. Yes Alan was the son. Last I heard Alan was manager of Big Tree Woodseats. About 6/7 years ago.
  12. Pete Stringfellow didn't have anything to do with the Esquire. Terry Thornton did.
  13. Hello RiffRaff, I would have been there most likely Fav was another place that we always went to. Alan.
  14. I was thinking about old friends that I knocked about with in the 60's and wondered if anyone knows him. I went to Norfolk School with him and The Esquire, bowling alley on Queens road and the Mojo. He lived on Norfolk Park and had a nickname of killer. Just wondered how he was doing. Alan.
