  1. Trying to find out of what became of an old mate from Upperthorpe School. His name was Johnny Walker and he used to live at the side of the Oxford Cinema. I believe he had a younger brother called Alan and a younger sister called Susan.
  2. I can remember a coach company in Upperthorpe I think were called Mills Coaches. Remember that June Mills was in my sisters class at Upperthorpe school in the 50s. Remember going on an evening trip into Derbyshire and finished up at the Lathkildale Hotel. Just wondered if anyone can remember this operator.
  3. What exactly do you need to know just a lubrication service or a full service.
  4. A Yorkshire bloke dies and when he gets to the Pearly Gates St Peter says to him. Sorry you can't come in here you have been a sinner all your life. Yorkshire bloke says please isn't there any penance I can pay to get in. Ok says St Peter here's a bucket go and bail out Bridlington Harbour. Yorkshire bloke spends 5 days trying to bail out the harbour but just as he thinks he is winning the tide comes in and it fills back up again. Feeling defeated he goes back to the Golden Gates and asks St Peter if there is another penance he can do. Ok says St Peter there is another task you can do Get Sheffield United back into the Premiership . Ge us that Bucket back says Yorkshire Bloke.
  5. Worked at the old Olive Grove workshops from 1963 to 1970 served my apprenticeship as a Fitter one of the best times of my working life as every day was different. The workshops foreman at that time were Aubrey Kelly and Ken Stowe. You really could write a book based on what went off over the years especially the Christmas nights out. Happy days.
  6. Been to a lot of Greek Islands including Corfu & Zante but Kefalonia is my favorite for its beauty & friendliness of the people. Went there 2 yrs ago & stopped in Skala at the Nine Muses. You need to hire a car to see the island properly as the bus service isnt that good.
  7. If my memory serves me right he was also on BBC children's television as Papa Luigi alongside Pinky & Perky.
  8. The mistake you made was replying to Parking Eye as you are admitting being there on the date in question. I had one sent to me in December 2011 while visiting Holiday Inn when I was parked for about half an hour same format £80 rising to £120 then threatening court action . I threw every letter from them in the bin without acknowloging having receiving it. Eventually they got fed up & have not heard anything since. If it was a legal document they would have to send it recorded delivery to prove you had received it. Just ignore anymore you get & dont contact them any further and good luck.
  9. If i remember the drivers name was Johnny Holmes he also had a drivers mate whos name if i remember was Jim ( cant remember surname]. Worked at Olive Grove from 63/70 happy days.

  11. Worked there from 1970/72 some happy times & good laughs . Guys I can still remember Johnny Watson [Jug] , Melvyn [sorry cant remember his surname] ; Mick Tanzer ; Dave Stansfield [Claira]; Paul Harriman Haza [Cant remember his real name] ; Dave Shepherd ; Terry Robinson ;Johnny Baxter; Grumps [Cant remember his name either] & lots more I have forgotten the names of over the years. Would be nice to know where they all are now.
  12. Interesting that Motorway featured on "Dont get done get Dom" this morning on BBC 1 didnt come up smelling of roses.
  13. Had this problem only last week , Water kept backing up on outside grate everytime the shower or dishwasher was on. Went to B&Q got a bottle of drain cleaner also bought a drain plunger poured half the bottle of drain cleaner down the grate left it a couple of hours then poured a couple of pans of boiling water then put the plunger down & bingo the drain was unblocked cost about £20.
  14. You have only to look at the turnover of staff to see that it isnt so good managers have no idea about man management.
  15. I wouldnt recommend it unless you want to be bullied & harrased. I worked for them once but never again.
