  1. Not sure if this affecting everyone or is just in the Stannington area... or it's just me. These last few months the broadband has been appalling. Slow, unreliable, inconsistent. These last few days in particular have been particularly poor. It took nearly a minute to load this page. Anyone else on Talk Talk having problems? Or should I just give them an earful?
  2. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 10/10 Outstanding. Set a new bar for blockbusters.
  3. I'm a heavy metal fan but you hit the nail on the head there with Def Leppard. Absolutely dreadful band! No idea how they got so popular or how they've lasted so long. I have a friend who saw them at the arena with Motley Crue and he said Leppard were appalling. We saw Sabbath on the 14th and that was phenomenal.
  4. I'm going. Saw them last year at Download and they were great given their ages. I know Ozzy recently turned 65.
  5. The World's End - 9/10 Could not stop laughing! Absolutely brilliant!
  6. King Kong. I can't think of any films that have had such a profound influence on cinema in terms of scope and majesty in the way Kong has after 80 years!
  7. - Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) - Inglourious Basterds - Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio) - Django Unchained - The Joker. Obviously Ledger's portrayal in The Dark Knight, but I also loved the Joker in the Arkham video games too! - Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) - Psycho - Goldfinger (Gert Frobe) - Goldfinger - Dr No (Joseph Wiseman) - Dr No
  8. Emmelie de Forest - the girl who won Eurovision. Oh my!
  9. I applied for a job there last year! Damn, I wish I had got it.
  10. Shook Tony Iommi's hand at his book signing about a year or so ago. I also, naturally, told him that I was a big fan of his work and was looking forward to seeing him at Donington... which I did. It was a blast
  11. I stopped watching a couple of years ago. It really went downhill in the last few series'.
  12. Skyfall - 9.5/10 Second viewing and it is still as excellent as I remember it in the cinema. Hands down the best 007 film since Goldfinger, which is a bold statement.
  13. I don't read The Sun anyway, and frankly, if you want pictures of boobs, then use the internet! However, if page 3 does get 'banned', I can see a load of feminists jumping on their victory wagon.
  14. I love Sankeys! Great club, good on the staff for refusing him entry.
  15. The 39 Steps (1935) - 10/10 A gripping spy adventure about a man who becomes inadvertently involved in a murder case, causing him to go on the run. My favourite Hitchcock film. Pure and simple.
