  1. Probably the wrong forum to be advertising this service, especially when Sheffield FC have their own forum which is visited by 300 members a day. http://www.behindtheflag.info
  2. Modest played in the Sheffield FC trial game a few weeks ago and got injured during the game. He should appear in the near future.
  3. Gazza was indeed suspended and Ashley has departed for Belper along with Charlie Weir. This info was all published on the fans forum which includes news as it comes out of the club. http://www.behindtheflag.info
  4. Playing at Goals tonight. If you look out for me, I will have a Sheffield FC training top on with my intials RS on and our keeper, Anto will have a Doncaster shorts on with 10 Sharpe on the back.
  5. Playing at 6pm if you fancy it. Friendly arranged, good set of lads.
  6. What is the format of your Thursday league? (ie players per side)?
  7. Hiya Yes I am still looking. If you would like to email me directly then I can forward you my number and I can tell you more about the team I am working with. Rich [email protected]
  8. I went on the Friday night that Ramsey recorded the re-opening for TV. Had a great night and was asked if I wanted to be included on their guest list. I agreed and received about 4 emails during that year and each time I rung to book a table, I got through to their answer phone. I was instruncted to leave my number and someone would get back to me to confirm table availability. On the four times I left messages, no one ever got back to me and I decided to remove myself from their mailing list. A total waste of time.
  9. Couldn't agree with you more. I used to be a season ticket holder at Sheffield United and after getting down to watch Sheffield FC a couple of times, I soon got the bug for non-league football. The standard of football is very good, the fans are friendly and are happy to welcome in new supporters and it's a cheap afternoon out.
  10. Many clubs have claimed to be older than Sheffield FC but are unable to produce any evidence to back up their claims. Although we are officially recognised as being formed in 1857, there are still some who say we actually existed in 1855 but you can only go with dates from official meeting minutes. For those interested in learning more about the history of football, can I suggest taking a look at a book titled FROM SHEFFIELD WITH LOVE.
  11. Sorry for the pompus reply but we "the fans" of Sheffield FC celebrate being the oldest club every week. If football fans want to celbrate, then why not come down to the Coach and Horses and follow the team. We have a new manager this season and we site on top of the Eve Stick Division 1 South.
  12. Your almost there. Some would argue about your wording of organised rules but for the sake of argument yes the first rules. Your correct in the statement about Hallam being the oldest ground, as any football historian will tell you Sheffield FC didn't actually own a ground until 10 years ago when they purchased the Coach and Horses Ground (formerly the home of Norton Woodseats). Prioir to this, Sheffield FC played at a number of grounds including Bramall Lane, Olive Grove and Abbeydale to name just a few.
  13. Because as far as the council are concerned, Sheffield FC do not play in Sheffield as their home ground is in Dronfield, Derbyshire. This was one of the reasons for their original proposal to move back to Olive Grove, but that soon went bang when the World Cup bid went the same way.
