  1. Roads were in need of resurfacing but have now been done.
  2. I have lived in Beighton all my life ( over 50 years now ) and i love it, it has a good infrastructure, if you need to use public transport you can catch a bus on Queens road very regularly and you can get the tram from Crystal Peaks which is a few minutes walk away. There are 2 junior schools close by ( Reighnhead and Brookhouse ) which seem to be good schools. You then have Crystal Peaks Shopping Center for all of your shopping needs and the retail park across the road where you will find all the usual outlets. A good selection of places to dine out ranging from Hungry Horse outlets to American diners and Curry houses along with most of the fast food chains. Crime rate is low and ive always felt safe walking around Beighton, hope this helps you.
  3. Hi Rob, Ive lived in Beighton all my life and live quite close to Queens Road, i think its a great place to live with a good infrastructure. You have super transport links into the city center via the tram which is a 5 minute walk from Queens Road to the tram stop, or by bus which runs up and down Queens Road itself. 2 Junior schools nearby ( brookhouse and Reignhead ) A few decent pubs where you can dine out if you wish and of course there is Crystal Peaks shopping center as well as virtually all the big named supermarkets all within walking distance or a short car or bus journey away. Crime rate is pretty low ( you get the odd incedent ) but where dont you these days. All in all i think its a great place to live. Hope this info helps you and hopefully youre daughter will settle in nicely.
  4. I completely agree with you lectrolove, we went on saturday and as you say for an amateur production it is absolutely brilliant, a cast full of very talented performers, very funny and superbly acted, we loved every minute of it.
  5. Alan Hartley you remember right, the Gaffer and Shelley were both sitcoms from years gone by, Shelley starred Hywel Bennet and The Gaffer starred Bill Maynard of Selwyn Froggit fame.
  6. Thanks for your suggestion ukdobby, ive just remembered it was Quinnie Watts who played his wife, it also had Mike Reid in it as well, it was shown around the mid 70s i think.
  7. Anyone remember Yus My Dear starring Arthur Mallard, cant remember who played his wife.
  8. Yes, im a fan of it, it gets my vote.
  9. Classical, opera, country and any song that has the slightest bit of rap anywhere in it, on it or near it.
  10. I know its a long time ago now but for me its got to be 4 weddings and a funeral, the hype about that film was unreal, but i thought it was shocking, about as funny as toothache.
  11. Windows down, sunglasses on and belting it out to sweet child o mine by guns and roses, that will do it for me
  12. Yoghurt and salad cream for me, both absolutely disgusting
  13. If he wants to marry you so much and for all the right reasons and if ( as you say ) he is such a great man then he will wait till YOU are ready, if hes not prepared to do that then there is only one answer, and thats bye bye pal.
  14. Chicken biryani and pilau rice with popadoms, perfect.
