Excession

Pat worked hard for people well into her 80s, she always had time for even the smallest issues. I saw it first hand over the last 6 years, she was a kind, thoughtful, incredibly hard working woman and Sheffield has lost a good one. She will be missed.

I'm still looking, although I've got a good few now so probably just need one at a time now. We didn't play this week, but I'm expecting to be back on next week, and I'll PM you if we are.

Putting together a regular group playing at Goals on Thursday nights, 8.30. Got a couple of spaces for anyone who wants to play regularly, but not competitively. We're all ages and abilities, from early twenties to 40ish, and it's only for a laugh and some exercise. Would be about £6 a week, PM me if interested.

Looking to join a Thursday night team at Goals, probably towards the lower end of the leagues. Used to run a team there (Settle for Nothing) until we ran out of players and I got injured, dying to get back into it. Our keeper has foolishly broken his finger playing for a different team - the cheek! - and we need someone to fill in for a few weeks. We play Thursday nights at Goals, the standard of your keeping is completely unimportant, the main issue is that you, rather than me, stand there having balls kicked at you. So even if you just fancy it for a laugh, that's good enough for me. We're playing at 7pm tonight, would love someone to fill in for that.

Kane, I'm starting to think you live in one of the Goals changing rooms and just pop out every night to play a few games of 5 a side.

He wasn't wrong either. Only conceding one in 5 a side is pretty amazing. Helps that we knocked in 13 of course...

Wadee - not at the moment, Kanio has volunteered, hopefully for the long term if all goes to plan. I'll look for you if he can't make it some time.

Funny you should say that - our old keeper lived in Rotherham and gave up because of that same reason - none of us are anywhere near. The referees are a bit funny about keepers waving sticks about anyway

If ever needed? You're needed RIGHT NOW! My other two leads have gone very cold indeed. We're playing 9.15 this Thursday, times rotate every 45 minutes from 7 so we only play this late every 4 weeks. Will PM you my number, let me know if you need more details. Chris

I've seen some pretty nasty things at goals, agreed, but most of the nutters have been weeded out now. We've been playing since it opened, and the first few months were a complete lottery, some absolute psychos getting out their frustrations about their otherwise pitiful lives. Almost all done in good spirits now though. Warren - where are you fella?
