I think the problem was they opened the road before it was ready due to the fact the X1 bus was going to use the new road. I've noticed the footpaths aren't complete. I assume they'll be temporary lights at times so the workmen can finish the job.

I wouldn't consider Meersbrook or Woodseats not because they're bad areas but due to the commute could be a nightmare. If work office is Hillsborough look for local areas Stannington/Hillsborough/Walkley. As Gerrybooth mentioned Tramlink bus can get you to other places further north Middlewood, Oughtibridge, Wharncliffe Side, Deepcar/Stocksbridge. Fulwood is an option if the commute to work is by car wouldn't recommend it by public transport. Hillsborough/Oughtibridge both have nice parks, Hillsborough has a lot more shops but also has the football ground i avoid Hillsborough if SWFC are playing at home. Oughtibridge not alot of shops but was a quite area don't know if that's still the case. Hope this helps.

I believe funding for these services is partly if not wholly from Tesco's ---------- Post added 21-07-2016 at 19:50 ---------- From what i can gather it's the buses that serve Abbeydale what are changing the ones what serve Dore remain unchanged apart from serving the old terminus at the bottom of Knowle Lane. But i assume bus will only pull in if running early or someone is in the stop waiting.

To save you the time you won't have much joy finding what you're after from Chapeltown Market. Only open on a Friday but as already stated not really much there anymore.

There is a sign as the Bus Lane starts stating it's in operation Mon-Fri 7.30am-9.30am from what i remember.

Quite alot of bus services were changed back in November 53 no longer runs as it used to Ecclesfield-City-Low Edges. The 7/8 cover the northern Section Ecclesfield-City & now onto Crystal Peaks & the 24/25 cover the Southern Section City-Low Edges/Bradway starting at Woodhouse. I still think they should revert the services back but that's never going to happen.
