  1. No, there is no charge. I already sent for one and they said they don't have a problem with freinds of mine asking for reports either so we will be OK. The only thing holding us up is Me!!
  2. Really, Really sorry guys but I got caught launching some new maps on my site earlier than I expected so work took a priority, even over the bank holiday, Because I changed the maps it meant the links to the restaurants wouldn't work to get the details and address to email to the Council. I will spend this coming Sunday evening pming and emailing everyone. I will switch notification on for this thread so I won't leave it so long after a post next time before keeping you appraised.
  3. UPDATE: !!! First thanks to the newbies that have volunteered, I will send a personal message to everyone soon. I have now recieved a mail from the council with an address they would like us to use to request the reports which means we can start requesting them and building up our list. I will not have time until the weekend to sort the details so I will contact everyone then. My solicitor also recieved a letter from them and there is a chance that I can get about 200 of the reports in one go (maybe) which would speed things up. This is a link to a similar scheme in New York that shows it doesn't effect business too much except to improve the standards. http://63.106.144.9/RI/web/index.do;jsessionid=37BD593787C28CF414DB91E8D0C2560C?method=goldenAppleList
  4. The public view was already made a few years ago which is why the Law has changed to allow us access 'By Right' and it is not up to the individual working for the civil service to decide who should get reports and who shouldn't. By Law they have to give us the information. Also I asked for all reports in one request and they said it is unreasonable and we can only get them in ones or twos.
  5. Just to let you know that I am still waiting for the email address from the council and will send details as soon as I recieve it. We also need more people to send the emails, anybody any ideas? Cheers.
  6. Well its not quite Monday but I have a web site. http://www.topoga.com/fh/ForumRestaurant.aspx I will email names and passwords but those who have my email address might want to email me a ScreenName that you might want to use otherwise I can just use your Forum Name. Anyway, have a look at the web page and let me know any suggestions for changes. I am currently waiting for a new email address from the council as we don't want to swamp the one that I currently have for their manager. Then we can start requesting reports.
  7. You should join our thread http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=107260 So you have less chance of it happening again.
  8. It shouldn't need that much time if I can finish the web page that will automate it a bit for us. It should be done by Tomorrow (Monday) and I will contact everyone.
  9. I didn't put the clock back in my car last year and after about three months of getting appointments wrong I though I might as well leave it as there was only three months to go before the clock would be right again. With a week to go before my clock would be right I put it in for a service and they put the clock right!!! So, it was right for a week and then it was wrong again. I keep meaning to read the manual.
  10. 1. I will pm you with my email address. 2. On Monday I will have the web page up and will email you your login password. 3. You will access the web page and pick two or three restaurants to request reports for. 4. The web page will create the emails requesting the reports for you (and you can edit them and send them) 5. When the reports are sent to you then forward them to me. 6. I post the reports on the web site (only we can see them with our logins) 7. I write to the restaurant with a copy of the report and await a reply which I also post on the web. Then when we are ready we can open it to the public. That's the idea anyway and as it will be automated then we will have very little to do which is cool. We do kinda need more people though otherwise it will take about 10 months.
  11. Yes because under the freedom of information act we all have a right to access the data. We will just be making it easier. The council then won't have to mail the details to everyone as we will have a web page to show it. We will also be writing to every restaurant with a copy of their report to give them time to get a new report done or to give an explanation of what they have changed since the inspection. Which I think is fair. I have also informed the council of my intention to get these reports and put them on the web and to send copies of my communications to the guardians 'free our data' campaign. I will also take full responsibility and if at any time they said it may not be legal then I would remove the web page and let my solicitor handle stuff. It will be a laugh just to see if we can do it. It really seemed to work in New York and I think that if we can help raise the standards to a minimum in Sheffield then we will have done OK.
  12. I have my computer working again, it was the power supply (anyone want to buy a motherboard?) YOU could be the Alliances Ace Reporter. We also intend to write it up for the Guardian who are having a 'Free Our Data' campaign. So, I have 'created the job dude' but now I am delagating it:hihi: . Remember: "Use the fork hoook" (that was for Fox20 who seems to like them.
  13. I posted in the guest book as I love to see community sites and especially ones that have a real impact on improving the lives of the community.
  14. I like that but I see it more as the council of the rebel alliance to include us all as a democracy. Anyway, this council members mother board has given up the ghost so I cannot do anything for the alliance at the moment. I have a new one coming tomorrow (promised for) and it will take me a day or two to get all my stuff back up and running. I will then PM or email everyone with the details of what we do next. As it is restaurants we will be looking at it has to be relevant to leave you with:- "May the fork be with you"
  15. ...and then there were ten. (only 390 to go)
