  1. oh, right, was going to offer you a stead set solution, but unless you move back to Yorkshire you're a little out of my range
  2. the tapo ones, mine have been running without issue for years, easy to setup the inbuilt timer in the app too.
  3. Great it's fixed, I was about to get all 'questiony' about it lol
  4. Installing an SSD into my i7 laptop took the boot time to a workable google chrome screen, from 3 minutes to 15 seconds.
  5. Don't think this chaps problem will be wiring if the speed he's stated are consistent. Bad cabling can drag an internet connection through the mud mind you.
  6. Can be a nightmare, when my Google Ads stop performing as they should, they call me, and literally every scenario to improve things costs extra. At a time when jobs are beginning to slacken off your sole means of advertising suggests spending more. Can't happen.
  7. Was going to say the same, I had a Humax recorder for donkeys years, once online streaming became popular and internet faster I simply stopped recording stuff.
  8. I'm using a Epson XP-8600, it's a lovely triple printer and superb photo prints on high quality gloss paper.
  9. If it's a SkyQ LNB on the dish, then it won't work with mainstream Freesat. However the more advanced 4K Freesat boxes are compatible with Wideband SkyQ LNB's. You could swap the SkyQ LNB if it can be done safely, for a narrow band LNB which you can buy for £5/£10, but if you move the dish while swapping it, could become troublesome.
  10. Get an SSD upgrade top4718 it'll honestly blow your socks off in comparison. I did a demo video for someone, showing how my Laptop went from a 4 minute bootup to 14 seconds.
  11. I don't use Freeview or Freesat, just a Firestick with NowTV, PrimeTV, Netflix and Disney+ on there, and watch YouTube now and again on it. Just need at least 4mb internet really. I use the Network Cable Adaptor too, £13 on top of the £30 for the Stick. No TV License needed
  12. I'm not the OP by the way, I was saying mine runs waaay better with SSD that with regular IDE, boot time now 14 seconds when it was around 4 minutes before. I did a spec-check for windows 11 and it came back my lapdancer wasn't upto it 🤕
  13. just made this, hope it's ok to post?
  14. I've a similar laptop to yours but a step up, similar age though the LENOVO ideapad 310 i7. All you can upgrade the memory to is 8GB, not brill but..... Mine also starting running like warm cheese a couple of years ago. The trigger was after an update it took literally 10 minutes to get back on it's feet. Nightmare. From a cold boot it would take about 4 minutes, also not great. Installed an SSD and did a complete system clone, warts and all, with a SSD-USB adaptor cable. Boot time went from 4 minutes to 15 seconds AND IM NOT EXAGERATING, and that's from cold to an operational Chrome screen too. Software boot times when from 10ish seconds to INSTANT. After 2 years off SSD it's shown no signs of slowing.
  15. Chrome Cast or Amazon Firestick for casting. Just have the Tab plugged in all the while to power. I had a TabA and enjoyed it for the more demanding Android gaming, also with a Sim slot good for gaming abroad with free roaming (when we used to have free roaming).
