  1. Hi ya, The Cremorne on London road has some great 'open-mic- nights and some good bands on too. It has a proper fag place out the back and sells proper pints! That beign said, I've not been for about a year (due to pregnancy, baby and lack of money!) but it used ot be good, and gerneraly full of the hippy/alternative people you're looking for. Just avoid it if Sheff Utd are playing as it's so close the the ground and show matches so it gets packed. Not sure of any days/times but worth checking out. We also went to the common room the other day, above the Forum on division st. really enjoyed that so might be worth a peek (not sure about music and stuff but seemed nice chilled out atmosphere. Have a good night whatever you do!
  2. Ive just rang the mobile number for Marsh Lane and its turned off so presuming that's not open today. Does any one know any that are def open? Dont wanna drive all way to say, oldcotes and it not be on!
  3. Thats a really good idea - never thoguh of that. can just wash mat then! Cheers people!
  4. PS. Dont loose faith, as with all things the customer service is really the key and everyone has bad days. It IS exciting and you WILL get there!
  5. I used to work in a mortgage advisers who worked closely with various estate agents and as far as i was aware, they HAVE to see ID and proof of funds etc due to 'the estate agents code' and money laundering regulations. Also, surely from the vendors point of view, I wouldnt want to be showing loads of people round my house who were just there for the 'day out'. i would want to know they were serious to buy, like i would be to sell. I have heard bad things about Haybrooks but neevr had any direct dealings with them. They seem very pushy in the initial stages however, and from my observations tend to be able to advertise good sales records, cos they sell everythign for lower prices (good for buyers you'd think, but apparetly not!).
  6. Hmmm, thank you. I was hoping to have something wipe clean as our back door opens straight on to that room, but it does seem like carpets are going to be best probably after all. Its so frustrating - I need to learn to research things before i get my heart stuck on it! It would seem such a pity to do anything that would ruin the tiles, there seems to be so few original features around in houses that aren't like mansions.
  7. Just wondered if there was any one out there who has had any experience with quary tiles? We live in an old terrace, Woodhouse way, and have got quary tiles in our dining room. They look lovely, but are not all in great conditions, are hard to clean between and are very hard to fall on - this is relevant due to us having a 6month old baby! We want to cover them over, with lino, cushion floor, or laminate but are getting very confused with all the different advice and quotations we're getting. Someone has suggested screed(?) but this seems too permanent, as when the baby has stopped crawling etc and we've saved up, we'd like to get them restores. Has anyone covered them before? Any advice out there? We were hoping to get the room done, it's only about 3mx3m for around £100-£150 but people are talking AT LEAST double this...!
  8. Been twice now and it's great - she loves it! NOt used any floats or armbands or anythign yet but the pool provides them all anyway if I we did need any! Gxx
  9. Am with you Tsar Chasm, of course everyone (should!) agree that animal neglect is terrible, but soem situations cannot be avoided no matter how much we wish they could. It doesnt help anyone to simply label everyone who has to do it as irresponsible or horrible people.
  10. You cant say off the cuff that everyone who re-homes dogs for pregnancy etc are cruel/callous/irresponsible/bad human beings. Its all very well casting these aspursions around but you cant possibly know the pain it causes. how can you compare re-homing a dog to a baby...? get real! I had to do this recenlty and it broke my heart.
  11. Im not entirely sure how cctv really helps - at the time you need the assistance, does it make you feel any better to know that someone will see the tape of it in the morning, when the assailant is long gone and you're already hurt/abused/mugged etc...? It didnt help me!
  12. deepest, deepest sympathy to the families and loved ones. its the people we leave who suffer the most when people are taken too soon.
  13. My dad has recently retired and sailed for years before I was born (i'm 27!). He went all the way round Australia, so def has the experience but not done it for a few years!! He's not on here but I think he'd be dead interested. I'll send him this link an dhim/me may get back to you!
