  1. Similar story here. Glad we went, had some nice food, and decent beers. Prices weren't too savage and we got a table without too much of a wait (at around 6:30pm). Saying that, I don't understand why people would queue to get in? Just to queue again at every food and drink outlet? I'm guessing that it's just "the place to be" or whatever, but yeah, it was a big queue when we left at around 9ish. We wanted to chat, so we sloped off to the Gardeners Rest when the music got turned up. I'd go again but I couldn't make a whole night of it.
  2. I work in Leeds and have done for several years. All of the nightlife / retail stuff round the centre just changes with whatever the latest fad is. So for people who have just discovered "craft beer" and, god forbid, "street food" in the last few years - it must seem amazing. Like you, I agree it's poncey nonsense
  3. Cheers, forecast says a nice evening on Friday so will aim to get down early. If it silly busy, then pub crawl round Gardeners, Harlequin, Fat Cat and Kelham Island. Not a bad plan B
  4. Hi Got some family visiting and looking for something a bit different to do Friday evening. Was thinking of Peddler Night Market down Neepsend... hearing mixed reports on how busy it gets. 6/7 ish, are people queuing to get in? Anyone a regular? Worth it? Ta
  5. The Daily Mail (newspaper of the year 2016) has described the terrorist as a clean-shaven white man. I'll be honest, I'm glad to see members of the clean-shaven white community are publicly condemning this terrorist attack. But is that enough? It will be argued that clean-shaven white men could be doing a lot more to prevent this kind of extremist action... alerting the authorities of radical preachers, etc?
  6. Haha, valid question. I'd wanted to give them a second chance, and then had follow-up visits after pub sessions and long walks where I'm just after quantity regardless of quality.
  7. There is a chippy near where London Road and Chesterfield Road join... Called Ocean. I've been there 3 or 4 times and wholly unimpressed. The chips are too big and pale / undercooked so they're claggy and tasteless in the centre.
  8. Hi Dave, would love to, but one of my best mates is getting married that day (bit selfish). Have got the next one 22 July in my calendar though
  9. I popped along to Green Rooms a couple of weeks ago, but as Dave Br said there no dancefloor. Also went up to Route 61 at the Niagra Suite in Hillsborough. Some good tunes, passable dancefloor but the decks kept breaking. Looking forward to the all-nighter on Sat 10th June... https://www.soul-source.co.uk/calendar/event/45505-sheffield-all-nighter/
  10. Is this Wade Brothers, next to the pharmacy and opposite the Victoria pub? I've been in Heeley so about 7 weeks now and not had a pork sandwich local to me
  11. Is this just The Closed Shop, or will Three Tuns be re-opening as well?
  12. Ah that's disappointing to hear - is there a big jump in price between 'standard' scans and the higher quality? Previously for black & white, I've used CC in Leeds. For £10 they develop and scan to 9x6 which seems like a much better deal. For comparison- develop and scan to 6x4 was £7 at CC
  13. Agreed, and I'd like to see him do well!
  14. See my previous response. Just saying he was dire last season, time will tell if he still has the potential that he showed before his break...
