  1. That was my post. When I said "can't be done" I did mean it in a more figurative and general way, rather than a specific matter. I have no idea if he's attended Parliament since December - it is indeed PMQs that he says he cannot attend. Does anyone know if he has attended Parliament? I would suggest it seems unlikely, given that he's missed important votes such as Universal Credit.
  2. ...it's ok to be concerned about high immigration and not be racist though. I'd put myself in that camp- I despise racism, but I think that immigration can't continue as it has been for practical reasons. That all sensible talk about immigration gets mired in accusations of racism is one of the biggest problems we, and other countries, face.
  3. ...and it's attitudes like that which create the huge divisions. Referring to people who voted to leave europe as 'crabby old bigots' is just woefully judgmental and ignorant. Over half of the voting public chose to leave- to suggest they all view 'foreigners as undesirables' and have 'hideously outdated views' is simply offensive. Basically you're criticising people for being ignorant and judgemental....whilst making terrible generalisations in an aggressive manner. Rank hypocrisy.
  4. Agreee entirely- that's exactly what feeds the extreme right.
  5. I have to say I was unaware of those things! Absolutely shocking - especially the idea of compulsory examination for FGM.
  6. I feel a bit sad for them - genuinely. I'm sure they've attracted some genuine loons and nutcases, but on the whole, they haven't been TOO bad at kicking those people out. I think there's a lot of misguided people involved with them, who aren't bad people at all, but have been thoroughly left behind and ignored by more mainstream politics and have looked elsewhere. That's really sad I feel. If UKIP gave then a voice for a while, then that's fine I think, as part of political discourse is hearing and discussing things that others may disagree with, and they did shake up things politically, which really has to be admired in many ways (regardless of personal views as to whether you would vote for UKIP or not). I do struggle to see what the party is based on now - as a key part of their policy was leaving Europe and can't see what would attract anyone to vote for them now.
  7. ...because he's a useless rude idle cretin? Had problems like this before- absolute aggression whem we politely asked if they could nlt lock their barking dog out in the garden all day every day. Poor animals. RSPCA visited- said there was nothing they could do as the dogs were being fed. Eventually they moved- which is about the best you can hope for really.
  8. I do actually regret not at least taking a couple of photos- but then really what's the point? Everyone already knows his game- no one believes a word he says, and knowa he's full of rubbish so a few pics of him on a night out are trivial really.
  9. Just been to the Washington. Jared drinking there- didn't seem too bothered by the fact it was rammed packed, had loud music and a dance floor.... Very tempted to make a comment to him but thought bettter of it. His 'disabilities' don't seem to stop him drinking in this environment..... Getting drunk on a dancefloor- OK. Attending parliament- can't be done. Absolutely disgraceful.
  10. I did wonder when this sort of thing would start happening in Sheffield - it's been more of a problem in other cities.....I've had it before but not here. Same description - Eastern European, with a shawl on, hand in my bag.
  11. So 'travellers' are the same as 'holidaymakers'? I'm not sure they'd agree with you on that one!
  12. If they have permanent homes and houses, then surely they aren't travellers?
  13. I'm inclined to agree with this. Nothing against the people themselves...but if you're using roads/parks/any public services, then you should be subject to pay for them like everyone else. I don't really see how anyone can think otherwise. I apply the same thinking to those who don't pay their taxes, or squirrel their money into tax havens....
  14. That seems reasonable enough. I think it's OK to say that there are concerns about them being at Hillsborough Park (as reported in The Star) without degenerating into insults and hatred.
