  4. Well done on getting the telephone interview! I recently applied for a position at HSBC, I didn't get a telephone interview - but was invited for an assesment interview over in Ellesmere Port. HSBC along with other major banks work on the same principle. They want to know details around 4 or 5 key areas. Also known as competencies - These can include various areas of current and past positions at work, an event in your life where you had to show skill etc.. a few others but at the moment I cant remember... - and how you deal with particular senarios. One thing I would highly recommend when you are on the telephone is to stand up! I know this might sound strange!!! but when you stand up on the phone you naturally smile which does covey over the phone - smiling while you are answering the questions will make you sound interested in the subject and also the job you are applying for. The type of questions they ask and level of detail needed depends on the job you are applying for with them - With me having previous experience before I went for the assesment interview allowed them to ask me particular questions relating to the job - You didn't mention whether you were already a chashier with another company or not. On the questions the best way of answering the question is using the S.T.A.R Principle. If you PM me your email address, I will send you a word document detailing that. Its too much to put into this message. It might be worth while before they ring you up to make notes to jog your memory on good points about yourself such as being enthusisastic, hard working, a people person, lovable personality. In my experience of HSBC, before I was went to the assessment interview I was given a debrief by someone out of Human Resources or where ever she was. It might be worth while given HSBC a call and see whether they are able to provide you with a 4/5 competencies which they want answers to - That way you will know roughly what they are requiring from you.
  5. Are you talking about Grizedale Forest up in the lakes? If so! Its gorgeous! Make sure you check out the Visitors centre and get some of that home made ice cream!
  6. Hi, Im in need of some contact details for either the Wigan or Sheffield branches of Telewest. Im planning to ring them up to see if I can find out their Human Resource address. Alternativley if you have that address then that would be even better! I think its down in the west midlands somewhere. Either Walsall or Solihull. Regards Rick
  7. Why not use Power Dvd, Get the full monty dvd. Select full screen and take a camera shot (printscreen wont work) using the function in the software on any scene or picture in the dvd?
  8. This is the website for the Moor Redevelopment http://www.themoorfeedback.co.uk/ I tried downloading the masterplan but it didnt work. Thankfully ive found a copy on my hardrive which ive uploaded for you to check out. http://rickmiles.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/moor/TheMoorMasterPlan.pdf
  9. The reason that the cutting edge sculpture had bad press was because the work was given to a Bristol manufacturing company when really it should have been made in Sheffield. It was offered to companies to build at the best possible price. The Sheffield companies which it was offered to couldnt make it cheap enough so instead a Bristol company gave the best price for the work and so it was given to task of making it.
  10. Sorry but living in Wigan I wouldnt exactly say its nextdoor to Manchester. Its something like 20miles from the centre! Thats like going from Sheff to Barnsley and Donny easily.
  11. What does waitrose look like? Could anyone be kind enough to take a photo for me? It doesnt look like safeway with a waitrose badge stuck nailed over the top does it?
  12. Well if you live in Wigan, where would you rather say you are from? Sheffield or Wigan? (Btw I am from Sheffield)
  13. I went to the wigan match on saturday. All I can say is we were dreadful! Before the first goal went in we had more possesion than wigan and it was a very scrappy match. First goal went in and wigan took the commanding lead. Took the initiative. As people say. your team is only as good as your strikers and as Im sure many of my fellow blades fans will agree, sheff utd have never been very good in the striker dept in recent years. Wigan arnt actually that good a side, its really their strikers which keep their head about water, the rest of the team is merely average. Nothing special. As for Ward and Lester, they looked like blocks of lard running after the ball. But I cant blame the front two for the defeat of saturday, it was a whole team under performance. I was embarrased to sit there at times. As im sure most of you know i live in wigan, ( ) so I was hoping we'd at least win! Someone further up the post mentioned about Webber @ Watford. He's this divisions top scorer with 9 and if he's on loan then I suggest Warnock gets his ass moving because he would be a very very welcomed addition. Regard warnock leaving, nah I dont think that should happen. We shouldnt follow the example of the other sheffield team, but that is another kettle of fish. Warnock should remain in charge for as long as he deems right, if he wants to leave and retire then thats his choice but as long as he is managing we should back him. After all who else have we had who could match warnock for character and most of all loyalty and commitment?! What we must not forget is that he has sheffield uniteds interests at heart and the 3million capped wage bill shows that. We should give him a good pat on the back really because other managers would have gone passed that milestone years ago. Its a shame that we never have much money to spend in the transfer market but I feel its just a matter of time. At the moment its all for the best because we are getting things in place to maintain the clubs future. If and when the casion comes into use we will have a mantained income of (est 8million) and we'll look back on the days when we spent money with care and think, "thank god we didnt do that" because who knows, we could be in Sheff Wednesdays position? If the casino money never comes then its not all end all, at least we arnt millions in dept
