Hi Kerry, I am the Countersignatory for an education company and am responsible for obtaining CRBs for our employees. An individual cannot apply for a CRB themselves but you can go through an Umberella Agency who will obtain all your necessary ID and charge you for the CRB which is £44 but can sometimes be higher as most places charge an admin fee. An Enhanced CRB can be used for up to 3 years in most organisations but it is entirely at the discretion of that organisation.
