Fa Cup Replays To Be Scrapped Next Season
Baron99 replied to TeatOwl95's topic in Sheffield Football
I always thought that ALL football clubs, regardless of any being in the Premiership were affiliate members of the FA with voting rights? Surely, something that will affect a large proportion of the affiliate, can't just be waived through at the whim of the FA hierarchy without it being put to members & a possible vote? -
Yes, I'd give the Catalonia region a wide berth for any breaks this year. https://www.euronews.com/green/2024/04/17/catalonia-tourists-may-soon-face-water-restrictions-but-swimming-pools-spared-as-climate-r#:~:text=The reservoirs for Barcelona and, drought regional authorities call historic. I heard Paul Hudson speaking about this a couple of days ago. Apparently, some of the Barcelona footballers are already complaining about "Third World conditions." Well try helping gentlemen by ditching the Bentleys, Ferraris & Lamborghinis for something smaller.

Hang on a minute! This sort of thing wasn't supposed to happen! Look who's trying to smarmy their way up to little old UK. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68848046 It's as though they've lost out on something although they seem to want a lot of conditions? My first reaction would be "Well, you're coming to us, so we're in the boss seat. What's in it for us first & foremost? We'll go away & have a good long think & eventually get back to you, EU. You're not really a priority for us at the moment." -

Watched the news tonight & they interviewed the Chairman of Cray Valley Paper Mills F.C. who managed to get a 1 - 1 at Charlton. The following reply at Cray Valley, Cray Valley were hammered 1 - 6 but their Chairman explained that even those 2 games against might Charlton brought in over £120,000 that's kept the club solvent & allowed them to develop facilities. I also remember watching the reply on tv between Bristol City v West Ham. First game, 1 - 1 draw. Reply, 1 - 0 Bristol City. West looked a bit sorry for themselves that night & I can't remember who the pundit was but he said something along the lines of, "Well your average Premiership player doesn't like coming to grounds like this on a cold January night." Says it all. But sadly that's the way of the world. The money talks. I'd you gave me the option of the Blades winning the FA Cup or staying in the Premiership, I'd take the Premiership any day with all the many, many more millions that the club could receive. -
Different player. That was Sun Jihai who did the tackle. Remember it well. After his sliding tackle, the pitch looked like a WWI trench, he'd dug up so much grass.

'Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel'. Download it a while ago from BBC I-Player. Sci-fi comedy starring Chris O'Dowd, the Irish guy from the IT Crowd. Quirky film about an alien sent to kill & wipe out humanity but with the twist of time travel so the main characters get to re-live the same few hours, mainly based their local pub, a number of times over the same few hours with different outcomes. They even get to meet themselves at one stage. Funnier than it sounds & a very original plot. 7.5/10. -
Hi All. I've been sent / copied in to a number of emails / messages from a number of SF posters. Only reason I've not been posting is because we've been on a long holiday & I only take a cheap PAYG mobile abroad with no Internet access to it.

You know what's incredible about this thread? I posed the question 'Are Calais Migrants OUR Problem?', way back in January 2018 & absolutely nothing has changed - other than the UK spending, (wasted), billions of pounds.

So now Starmer has wades into the 'argument'. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-68632034 Nike have got exactly what they wanted, a vast amount of free publicity. It's the costs, especially of the 'authentic' shirts that get me. £125. Fair enough, it might have been 'playfully' designed & developed in the US but the majority will probably be sawn together in the backstreets of Dhaka?
