  1. Did you install it yourself 5iron2? We have a humidity issue in our house, particularly with the walk-in wardrobe we built and I've been looking at these PIV units and considering having one installed.
  2. I don't know anywhere that would do this but if you wanted to buy a new pair then duoboots.com sell knee highs with calf fittings of 30cm- 50cm. Its the only place I can get boots that fit my calves properly without them gaping at the back!
  3. Hi, I'd like to recommend Jeff, jsmith2009, on here. Has recently fitted a new front door and window for us but has done all sorts of other joinery/building work in our house which we've always been happy with. Nice guy and good prices.
  4. Mod Note Please post your advertisement for this tradesman in the appropriate section, "Job Vacancies". Advertisements are not permitted in this section. Thanks
  5. Thanks Andrew, just letting you know I've now got round to adding a listing in the free section of the forum with details and photos of the patio for anyone that's interested.
  6. I moved into my house last year and was planning on doing up the garden this year but now have a little one to look after instead leaving me with no time to do much with it. Since my priorities have now changed I've decided I just want to pull up all the patio stones and grass the whole garden but not sure what to do with the stones (or how to actually get them up and got rid of for that matter). Do I just hire a skip and someone to pull them up for me or are there people that would want them if they could have them for free?? Not sure what to do and don't have any time really to think about it at the moment but really don't want to wait another year before getting it sorted as its looking pretty shabby at the min!
  7. I've just bought some material from Laura Ashley in the sale and am wanting to take it somewhere to have curtains made out of it. Does anyone know if there is anywhere in either Dronfield or Sheffield where I can take in my own fabric to be made into curtains as I'm guessing most places would only make curtains from fabric you buy from them directly?
  8. I would like to recommend Jeff Smith (jsmith2009 on here). He has organised and just completed a full refurbishment of the upstairs of our house which included new windows, stair balustrade, bathroom, moving walls and doors and various other bits and pieces! He's a really friendly guy and always available on the phone. He kept us up to date with what was happening and gave us a timeline for each of the jobs which were all met. Helped us to finalise our ideas for what we wanted upstairs to look like and came up with some good suggestions we hadnt thought of (such as building storage into the chimney alcoves we were ready to just block up). Thanks Jeff for all your help!
  9. I'm sort of in a situation where if we can't get rid of it, my husband will probably have to take it to pieces and take it to the tip! Although our neighbour may want the wood for his stove!
  10. I've posted it on the give away section now if you want to take a look http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=991651
  11. Thanks, I'll try on there. Problem is I need to get rid of it this weekend as we move out on Monday!
  12. Hi, we're moving house and have a piano that we don't want to take with us as we'd have to put it in storage and then move it from there into the new house later. We're planning on renovating a lot of the house so could do without the hassle of having to move it around a lot. I've already put it on the give away section of Sheffield Forum but does anyone know of any services were people will take it off my hands for free?
  13. Hi, we've seen a house we like in Dronfield and was wondering what the area was like? We dont know much about Dronfield so was hoping someone could tell us if its a nice place to live? We're looking for somewhere quite quiet and a family feel to the area. Specifically around Green Lane, are there any dodgy pubs or estates nearby we should be concerned about? Also looking for somewhere thats not too far from a park for the kids? Are there good schools in Dronfield? What are peoples views?
  14. Our cat used to do this as well. Everytime he started to scratch the sofa we would pick him up and take him to the scratching post and put his paws up on it then scratch at it ourselves and eventually he started to copy. We always make a big fuss of him when he scratches the post so he doesnt scratch anything else now. Its the first thing he wants to show us when we come back from work! He was 5 when we got him so you can even teach old cats new tricks
  15. Hoping someone can help me, I was driving to meadowhall today in my 2006 Toyta yaris (new model) and when I was in the queue to get in the carpark it sounded as if a fan came on in the engine. It stayed on for around 10-20 seconds and went off, then a few minutes later it did it again and then again after that. It didnt do it on the way home as it was a pretty straight run, it was just doing it when I was stationary in traffic. Is this normal? I've never heard it do it before and I spend most days in traffic on Eccy Road so Im just concerned that it might mean somethings overheating in my engine?? Does anyone else own a toyota yaris whose car does this?
