Virgin Holidays. Breaking Their Own Rules?
Le Baron replied to Litotes's topic in General Discussions
My holiday to Thailand was cancelled on the 17th March by TUI, I was due to travel on the 25th March, and despite them saying they will proactively contact me regarding refunds or to amend my holiday they still haven't. Anybody else having problems getting refunds or amended holidays?? Trying to contact them is almost impossible. -
I knew Denise Naylor, she lived across the road from me in the 60s, Carr Forge Close, next door to Birdie, Neil Burgess.

Car Dealers - Preparing cars for collection after purchase.
Le Baron replied to Le Baron's topic in General Discussions
Oh well, live and learn, I'll try and chivvy them up a bit, was wondering if it was a cooling off period or waiting for the money to clear into their account. -
I bought a second hand car yesterday expecting to drive away either today or tomorrow, not so i must wait until the 24th Dec to collect. The dealer told me they need time to MOT it,Service it and do a valet, all these things can be easily achieved in a working day. So why must i wait a week to get my car which i paid cash for. The same thing happened to my step son, a week before he could collect. Is this standard procedure.

Hi Hillsbro, Off topic but wondering if you could help me as well, have you any idea where Ellinbro road is/was in Hillsborough. Thanks -
Thanks for your comment Twiglet, that makes sense. If the bullet was fired from a gun, as other people have said, no way would the casing have gone through the barrel, because of the rim, it would have been ejected. The bullet could have entered the body as shrapnel, I suppose, from an explosion, but the OP clearly stated he was shot and not involved in an explosion of some sort, I don't think he would have survived it.

Are undertakers allowed to perform the type of work where it would be necessary to cut into a body to remove something, how did the undertaker know where the bullet was in the leg , was there a scar on the leg to guide him?? I would have thought this would have been performed at Post Mortem (if one was held) and the bullet removed by request of the family, some thing doesn't ring true about this at all.

For those of us with an MBNA Credit card. I have noticed that interest charged to my account is sometimes higher than the previous month, even though the balance is considerably lower, (I pay the minimum plus extra to lower my balance) and no other transactions have been made. I have contacted them to point out this "interest overpayment" but all they say is it calculated on a daily basis. My argument is that it is Mathematically impossible to calculate a higher interest charge on a lower balance, even if one or two extra days interest is payable, my balance would have to exceed the previous months balance for them to charge more interest. This has happened on 4 occasions in the last 12 months. What can I do to redress this, anybody know???

My Brother in Law was the drummer, Stuart Fieldhouse, he died about 3 years ago. He was seriously injured in an accident at work which almost took his arm off, but the doctors managed to save it, he waited years for his compensation, and that was his downfall, he began to drink VERY heavily and died because of it. He loved his time with the Chevrolets. RIP Stuart. Baz

Hi Cotty, I know the house you mean on birley spa lane, I used to go there with mick hall but I cant remember the girls name. I joined the army in 1968 and served with the royal signals for 25 years, I served in Ireland for a year in 1973/4 at the height of the troubles, that was just a bit scary. Zakes I do remember the tin hut Elam had, it was located where the bus stop now is, never heard of anybody trying to rob it though, but I was only 7 at the time. A few years later we would rob a bottle of pop from the back of his shop then take it back for the few pence deposit. Have a good Xmas fellow hackenthorpians Baz

There are hidden charges: 1. Interest for defaulting even one week 2. I do believe you also have to pay an insurance premium or some such thing which is included in the paper work. 3. There is also a sort of breakdown premium to pay, seperate to insurance, always read the small print before signing anything Baz
