hmm.. I dont think Ruth willl win because I have a sneaking suspiscion that our Al is a bit of a sexist... Did anyone else notice, in the last episode, Ruth was saying something and Al interrupted "yes DEAR...(blah blah-something) .." DEAR? ??????!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was said in such a sarcy was as well... like how Alf Garnet would say to his wife to shut her up! Can you imagine him saying that to one of the blokes?? no. i really think she deserved more credit than that. Plus, how come he got rid of the most intelligent "normal" female so early on in the series (Karen - was her name???) Was that so people didnt have a chance to see that she had extremely good credentials to win it???

brilliant!!! managed to ditch the trojan!! thanks loads and loads!!! But, i have another problem, if anyone can help? Basically, i went to the microsoft website to try and get all the updates i need for my 98 system. And it went through my system and decided i needed 24 critical updates. So I clicked "install now". Basically, a little window came up saying "please wait, preparing to sinstall etc.." but nothings happened since then. I tried restarting comp and did the whole process again.Bbut still nothing. I waitied for a couple of hours.. but it just didnt do a thing. I did "cntrl alt delete" but there was nothing to say the programme wasnt responding. Perhaps it has something to do with another problem which i have on my comp? This is it: (try not to fall asleep-if you are still there??!!) - : pop up windows often dont load. Some do, some don't. But often, there will be a link in a web site, ie. a word in bold, for example, where you are supposed to click if you want to go there. I can ususally get around this by typing the web address straight into the address bar , but sometimes there isnt a manual address to do this with. In these cases there is nothing i can do , and i cant get to that page. Does this make sense? i hope so?! there is on bar at the top of my screen asking if i want ti block pop-ups or anything like that. and ive been through all the settings allowing pop-ups , cookies etc etc. Do you think its a firewall? I am using internet from my land ladies subscription (adsl) - maybe she has a firewall i dont know about. Phew!!! thats about it... if youre still there and not in a coma , id love to hear your view on this!!!!!!!!!! thank you very much for reading!!!

Hiya guys, I have found this virus on my lap top. Ive tried cleaning and deleting - but neither worked... Does anyone have any idea of anythign I can do? Im abroad and really need my comp but dont have a clue who i couold take it to to fix it out here. Is there anything I can do myself? In fact does anyone know where this virus comes from and what it actually does? My comp is still working, but very slow (but it is an old comp running on windows 98...) Would appreciate any response from anyone out there!! helllp! I know some of oyu guys konw loads about stuff... cheers, and hope to hear from someone.. anyone!!

hi there since my last posting - i conected my minidisk player to my laptop using a normal cable from the headphone socket on minisidkplayer and into the microphone socket on the laptop. i then downloaded my home made recording into the computer using audacity. I then exported this as an mp3 file. i then added this to my windows media player library, and have now burned the the track onto cd a couple of times. BUT the for some weird reason there are noises on the cd recording which do not exist on the original. weird sounds that are seemingly randomly distorting the music from time to time (too frequently) its really weird - sounds like a little gremlin in there messing around! can anyon ehelp?????????? really really need to try to get this sorted as its become seriously urgent....

indeed, seems to have gone weird.... but i managed to bag one flight to amsterdam adn one to lyon - both 1p including taxes etc!!! hoorah! have to go do something more useful now - so good luck to ya all....
