  1. It looks like Leicester's going to be your nearest aside from Solihull then.
  2. Lets not forget that this Government opposes measures brought in by the EU to prevent a repeat of the banking crisis of 2008. You can be certain that metropolitan globalist bankers over here don't want any regulations. The most unscrupulous part of the Establishment is pro-Brexit. Only an idiot could imagine that Farage, Johnson and Rees-Mogg aren't Establishment figures. They've made fools of large swathes of the population, and all hell will break loose when voters finally discover they've been made fools of by Farage and the like.
  3. You've voted for a bunch of foreigner-hating idlers who are there for the free ride.
  4. There's also the demographic effect. Seven out of every ten voters who die are Brexiteers. Eight out of every ten reaching 18 are Remainers, and because of the age gap between the typical Brexiteer and the typical Remainer we are seeing Remain's lead grow by almost 500,000 every year from reaching Crossover Day on 19th January - the day according to Peter Kellner where Britain would become a Remain country, even if nobody who voted in a future referendum changed their minds from the 2016 Referendum. Besides, by 2024, there will be more Remain voters still alive who voted in that referendum than Brexiteers thanks to that demographic effect - stripping out those who will have turned 18 since then. Another effect is improving education levels among the population - 24% of postgraduates voted for Brexit while 78% of those with few or no qualifications did so - and the number of people with few or no qualifications will shrink over time.
  5. They'd need a staggering improvement on their attendance record. Farage's was less than 41%, putting him 745th out of 746 in 2016.
  6. Those questions are much more pertinent to Farage, Johnson and the rest. Trump is letting us know he'll be boss over us in that brave new post-Brexit world that awaits of no Nissan, no Airbus, a privatised NHS and chlorinated chickens. If Farage's past is anything to go by, they'll be more familiar with the boozers of Brussels than the debating chamber of the EU Parliament. Idle Nigel was proud to hold up a clutch of mackerel in front of a trawler crew but attended only one debate out of 43 on fisheries.
  7. And gone for the foreigner-hating crackpots instead. The Brexit lineup reads like something out of a Hammer horror film. Voters have firmly rejected, errm gone for, the metropolitan, globalist bankers vision of the UK.
  8. There's going to be an awful lot more restoration work after this. It seems according to some reports that the restoration work might be responsible for this.
  9. Its very sad to see this happening, and restoring it will be abn awfully long job and will take many years. Just a small part of York Minister took four years to restore - this will be a far bigger job and might take until the 2040s.
  10. The damage was already done courtesy of that inspection, though. Once a dog has a bad name, it sticks.
  11. Ho hum. Another bitter nimby spreading more anti-HS2 dog crap. ---------- Post added 06-11-2018 at 18:16 ---------- HS2 didn't stop the Midland Mainline getting electrified. Grayling did, because he's a bitter North-hating crackhead who makes a mess of everything he touches.
  12. We have two hard Right parties in this country - the Tories and UKIP. They're both equally demented with a deep ingrained hatred of foreigners. At their conference, the Tories treated the EU as if we were about to go to war with them. ---------- Post added 05-11-2018 at 22:34 ---------- I know. Farage attended so little that you wondered if he got lost on the way to Brussels. It seems he was paid to pose outside pubs with pint glasses. They are the ultimate freeloaders.
  13. His two EU pensions amount to a cool £132,000 for doing precisely what? ---------- Post added 05-11-2018 at 22:22 ---------- And there it is. Too many of the 60+ brigade are utterly prejudiced hard Rightists who see foreigners as undesirables, are attached to the days of Empire, hate change, and have shafted the younger generation and threaten a recession thanks to their hideously outdated views. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence should have known an EU referendum would give a huge and damaging voice to these stuck in the mud types who put themselves and their feelings first and to hell with anyone else. The problem is - we've got for now a backward-thinking population trying to cling to this country's past. There was the story of a typical UKIPper who complained about too many Spaniards at her hotel - in Spain!! As for the future - my guess is that today's youngsters will have another referendum and vote to rejoin sometime around 2030 when they're in charge and have seen first hand the damage the crabby old bigots have done.
  14. An article on https://www.building.co.uk/communities/will-birmingham-be-chosen-as-channel-4s-new-home/5095348.article had the following statement in it: The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) estimates that Channel 4’s relocation to the region could generate a total of £5 billion of gross value added (GVA) by 2030. That £5 billion or thereabouts will be going to the Leeds City Region instead. In other words, it's quite a prize.
  15. Yes, and in both Manchester and Leeds - Tattu, Gaucho, The Ivy, Restaurant, Bar and Grill.
