  1. Day 3 Hope you managed to avert it..how did you get on ? It's good that your looking for ways to get through any cravings..well done ! Anyway third pill today still no side effects but I can swear that I don't seem to be smoking as much.. but by the end of the day I can tell that it's effects are wearing off.. on to 2 pills tomorrow so that should sort that, but going on what I feel now I know that the blue ones will definitely have an effect... how much of one we will have to wait and see !! .. another update tomorrow.
  2. Thats great !! I think, as with all side effects from drugs, that side effects can and will vary from person to person.. that is why this thread is so great.. if people continue to post about their own experience using champix the whole picture will emerge so hopefully others can be inspired to give it a go.. there is way too many people ready to point out the negatives and not that many (apart from on this thread) who give a balanced view... anyway off my soap box now... well done !! PS Thanks for sharing with us, please let us know how it continues for you.
  3. DAY 2 Ok woke up this morning with a headache, (possibly coincidence?) that quickly vanished after a couple of drinks, apart from that I feel great.. it may be just me hoping but I do seem to be smoking less... well not in actual numbers but in the amount at a time, I'm putting them out sooner than I normally do, sometimes as much as half left on them.....anyone else get this so early on ? Just taken the second white tablet, no obvious side effects as yet, will report here if and when I do get any. OH has got her frying pan ready in case i develop any bad moods ...
  4. Brilliant !.....brilliant !! ... oh I do love good news first thing in the morning... well done you !!
  5. Many drugs out there can be attributed to the cause of some very unwanted side effects, the press tend to "over dramatise" a lot of the newer drugs when side effects are brought to their attention, I guess it'll depend on the actual numbers when it comes to decisions over withdrawing a product. From what I have read and heard so far though, the benefits outweigh the pitfalls, and if a few side effects for a couple of months is all I have to put up with to get rid of my habit..then so be it ! So...unless it is proved to be more harmful than good I hope they don't ban it.
  6. Thanks for the welcome guys.... it's great knowing I can come on here for support ! Well almost time for my bed on day one and still nothing worthy of mention, when have the rest of you experienced any side effects, if any ?
  7. D A Y O N E Having read most of the previous posts I have gained a lot of motivation for attempting to quit, so thanks to you all ( Jabberwocky you are inspirational, so a special thanks for you !! and well done on allowing the pills to do it for you .... you stuck it out despite some problems, and you think you don't have will power !! ) Ok I have obtained my supply of champix, thanks to the NHS, and have today taken my first white pill. After several attempts and various others aids I am hoping that Champix will be the one that helps me. Background I have been a smoker for almost 30 years, I am married with children and have Diabetes type 2, I am overweight and exercise shy. I need to change this so that I can be there for my little ones as they grow. I will post on here daily to at least the end of my course of pills. As of yet I have nothing really to report, took the first pill and that's basically it, no side effects, stil smoking.. and just looking forward to a newer future that excludes fags. Catch ya all tomorrow !!
