  1. we live in nether edge between abbeydale road and brincliffe. we don't have kids so no idea about the schools. our road is very diverse ethnically and is very quiet - everyone gets on well and there is a nice sense of community. we bought a 3 bed semi at the end of 2008 and are doing it up.
  2. just for an update i've been to look at a focus and had a test drive. it seems a really easy and comfortable car to drive. it was warm and sunny at the time so i've not had a chance to try out the heated windscreen but i one thing was i kept looking at the windscreen and not though it! i'm wondering how quickly i would get used to the little wires!
  3. my friend works there and to be honest they seem a bit disorganised. Capita Hartshead don't have their own HR department and instead they use Capita Group HR dept. it might be that you are chasing the person in the HR dept when they are struggling to get a response from the person in the other company who actually interviewed you.
  4. ok, i've never heard of the Fusion? am i right in thinking the Skoda has a connection with volkswagen? Wozman - i've just been looking at the focus on autotrader and there seems to be so many about and so many different varieties. Which is the top model? in the old days it used to go up L, LX, GLX, GS or whatever but they now seem to be names - studio, titanium, ghia
  5. just had a look round the car park at work - think a Focus looks about the right sort of size. i've had a fiesta in the past which just felt that bit too small
  6. good thought on cost to run. the current scenic is 2.0 petrol so expensive on tax and fairly heavy on the go juice
  7. ok, my car which I inherited about three years ago is just about on its last legs (1998 renault scenic) and it is time for a new car but I have no idea where to start! needs to sear four adults occasionally, good sized boot pref hatchback. it will have to live outside on the road and I have a circulation problem in my hands so Iā€™m thinking a heated windscreen would be a major plus! And heated seats would be pure luxury! budget is up to around 7k any ideas where to start?
  8. i'm female hence wanting to get a group of girls together but its more about the fitness levels really. i'd rather not train with someone who's ability is way above mine as it can be disheartening or embarasing sometimes. i walk to Virgin as its only a mile from home. the 12 month membership was a present - i wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise! but luckily its quite close by. I've been a member of gyms in the past where they were not near home or work and i find that i use them much less often.
  9. Is there a group which meets in S7, does anyone know? I was kind of thinking multi craft coffee morning rather than taught class.
  10. hi sina, i'm 36. i think it would be nice to get a small group of girls together to train and get fit a couple of times a week. what gym do you go to?
  11. I'm overweight and underfit at the moment (with a BMI of 34.8!) and looking to find someone to train with 3 times a week who is a similar level of fitness. I got a membership for Virgin Active in Heeley for my birthday and I'm not working at the moment so the ideal time for me is just after the morning rush, about 9:30 am. Years ago when I was a member at another gym they had a noticeboard where you could find someone to train with or put an ad up. I wonder why they don't do that anymore?
  12. At Virgin Active the sessions are quite expensive. I had 3 sessions as a present and they did keep me focused in between them but its too expensive for me to continue with them. For motivation I used to train with a friend and we would make a specific time to meet up - either for a class or to do some training generally - i've got no-one to train with at the moment as she has moved up north! Does anyone know of a good place to look/message board etc for a training partner?
  13. we are looking for a cleaning service which will also do ironing, spring cleaning, etc thanks
  14. thanks for the info. just multimaping queens road and archer road now.
  15. thanks for your replies. i'm fairly close to the top of cemetery road and no car so its walking with a rucsack to get the groceries at the moment. i've found tesco at the berkeley precinct and waitrose which is just down the hill and on my way home from town more or less but is hugely expensive. i suppose i'm looking for the nearest lidl or aldi or netto - but i've not found any yet although i have found the chinese supermarkets on london road and stocked up on a few bits.
