  1. check out a totally DIY venue called the LUGHOLE in Sheffield that's where it happens punk wise, totally independent, scene bands and venue. cool local bands writing and playing their own stuff, chewed up ska punk, dry heaves, rock n rolly punk, rotten love 77 styleee, detergents also 77 ish, brainfreeze, uk/us style hardcore ala GBH/snfu. Another fantastic band from Nottingham, trioxin cherry playing soon in sheffield
  2. got other stuff to do MR grappler, nearly 7000 posts wow, you need to get out more, and mr whitehorses I am one the old farts I'm always one of if not the oldest at most of the gigs I go too.
  3. been reading some of the posts on here, people talk like old farts, Sheffield had a good punk scene and still does. there's more punk bands in Sheffield than actual people still into punk. the good old days, no such thing people looking through rose tinted x ray spex, punk is still alive and kicking probably harder than it ever did in the past. people 50yrs plus bigin up bands like 999 or the sex pistols experience like there's nowt else out there, open your eyes, 100s if not 1000s of new exciting bands out there stop being lazy go find em. ---------- Post added 13-04-2015 at 15:56 ---------- P.S I'll be glad when ya all get dementia so you won't be able to start by typing I REMEMBER WHEN.
  4. I remember David getting run over he had a massive scar and tonnes of stiches and his hair shaved off if my memory serves? my name is John Parker I lived on Cottingham st I have 2 sisters joanne and Andrea Do you remember the Murrys who lived in the big yard just down from you
  5. Try going out to a few punk gigs you might meet up with some of the people on here, but don't hold your breath it's almost 2011
  6. would and did, I went to waltheof 28yrs ago and we had <removed> like this back then.
  7. I sadly have to agree, things are going to kick off big time, I only hope it's the racists on both sides that cop it.
  8. my son knows one of the lads who was beaten to a pulp, who was an innocent party. two gangs squared up to each other, when the asian gang ran off the white lads took it out on shuman (who was walking home) this could have been your son or daughter, racists are cowards (black white pink brown or green) things are getting silly again, if this kind of thing dosen't stop the BNP will be in power soon. As for the kids who have done this I blame their parents, but I suppose there are asian parents who are just as ignorant. peace, there is no god so get off your knees
  9. I must be getting old demetia and all that, yeah i remember the bouncers being rough as a bears a''se, got thrown out of a couple of shows for dancing a bit too wildly, saw adam and the ants at the limit and gen X very early 79ish. also saw some free rock on the rates gigs a bit later, damned, uk subs, exploited at the pheonix hall (NMB) had to bunk off school to get tickets from this little caravan in ponds street from Marcus Featherbrain
  10. Did any one on here see the ADICTS at dingwalls, they played to about 30 people and now they're massive in the states. Took froggy to his first gig THE DAMNED at dingwalls I think I was the only one who was over16 at the time, bands I saw at dings, adicts, test tube babies (couple of times), bad brains, the original english dogs (first UK tour) GBH, the alarm, the damned. the leadmill also had cool bands on from time to time, but I'll shut up cus I'll be here all day. (ex member of toixc toys he he)
  11. I'm pretty sure the last gig at the marples was the angelic upstarts, the exploited played the same week, I remember cus it snowed all week and we had to walk into town cus the buses couldn't get up to the wybourn, and we thought the gig would be off, but it wasn't. There weren't many people in though.
  12. I remember a fight at the toy dolls gig,(skinheads as usual) they never played Sheffield again.
  13. It's sod all to do with a police state, It's about respect for others, summat smokers know nowt about.
