This sounds really cool, like the fact that your uploading photos of Hackenthorpe to historypin as that is where I was born and raised also.

If it turns out not to be the case- Beighton pre-1967 was in the rd of Chesterfield as it lay in Derbyshire.

Have you reported this to the police? My wife says a friend of hers' elderley mother was targetted twice a couple of years ago in the Parson Cross area of the city. That was reported to the police at the time but unfortunately we do not know the outcome.

Yes I remember you, although we never conversed you were well known. I am a year younger than you and was quite shy at the time, time spent in the Navy soon changed that. I remember that you were very good looking. I am glad to know you are still around these parts and I hope that you find someone on the forum who you actually know. I think you were a fan of LOVE AFFAIR the pop group. Any way all the best Richard Hall. -

Thanks everyone for your help - I rang Stagecoach on 01246 211007 who told me I could purchase an Explorer ticket for £5.50 from where I live. Or buy a £4 single on the X17. Once again thanks for your help. -

rbos123 replied to Jaywalker51's topic in Sheffield History & Expats
Just heard about this site http://www.britainfromabove.org.uk/ which has lots of aerial photo's and also has some of the 1925 Cup Final Wednesday v Cardiff during play. It's a bit slow but interesting. Actually the 1925 Cup final was between Sheffield United & Cardiff City and United won 1-0 -

When I was in the Navy as a leading Mechanic, I sent a junior mechanic to outside the NAFFI (Like a a kind of shop on board ship) to collect an air hose for the air compressor, he came back, having waited in a queue, and said to me that they had no Aeros at the NAFFI so he had brought me a Mars Bar instead. -
You must know me Lostrider, Baz Glossop, my sister was Pat and my dad used to be the caretaker at Rainbow Forge in the 60's before I joined up, I used to knock about with Billy Brown, Mick Hall, Kev Butcher, John Gilliver, Ian Burkinshaw, Jean Cotham, well remember the townsend girls, and know most of the names you mentioned, Ago an old pal of mine Dave Payne we were all up pigs Lane at one time or another, don't recall you thoug, wats your surname. Baz I am Richard Hall and I use to go to school with your Pat & Billy Brown's brother Pete. I knew of you but I don't know if I ever met you Baz wasnt you in the merchant navy at one time? I lived on the road below your dad's Carr Forge Mount. The David Payne you mentioned is that the lad who had a broken nose, if so I heard that he sadly passed away a few years back suddenly after a night out.
