  1. My garden has a slope and as a result I have a large boggy corner. Im planning on digging it out and adding some drainage. I've got a mini digger lined up so am now on the look out for cheap hardcore. I think I'll need at least 2 or 3 tonnes but maybe more. It must be delivered to S5. Can anyone recommend any companies? Any idea how much this would cost? Also, how is it delivered, bags, poured out onto the drive etc? Thanks in advance.
  2. My husband would be able to do this for you. He recently completed caricatures for our groomsmen and bridesmaids at out wedding and it proved to be an excellent gift (good choice!). PM me for his email address and he can send you samples of his work. Cheers, Liz
  3. We have lived in Hillsborough for 4 years now. We love chinese food and have tried most of them in the area. We always go back to Hillsborough Chinese on Holme Lane every time. It's the one with the yellow and red sign opposite the caravan/camping place. The people who run it are very friendly, the little girl who is often in there is so lovely, she may stick her tongue out at you though, ha. Try the salt and pepper chicken, the singapore fired rice noodles, all sweet and sours, soups, mixed combination starters, chicken in blackbean sauce, special egg foo yung. They are all very nice!!! Would be very surprised if you didn't enjoy the food from there. The food is tasty, not greasy, delivery time is good, £1 charge means you can order small amounts. Collection times are very good - your food is ready in 10 minutes usually. And you get free spring rolls or crackers if you spend over £12.
  4. Hi Kerri32, I have just tried to ring them (before reading all this) and found their phone line disconnected. I too have ordered my menswear from there and have paid a £70 deposit. I looked on the Cameron Ross website but could not find a contact number/email. Do you have this? Can't believe it has happened in such a terrible way. Are you going to the Barnsley branch? If you can let me know all you know before I start ringing round. Thanks, Liz
  5. Any fayres coming up in November? I am a new business hiring sweet bars / candy buffets and would like to hire a stall, but want to book something further in advance? What do people think?
  6. I went to the one at Magna last year and thought that was great, very busy but really good. This one wasn't as useful to me as it was mostly the same stuff. Like other brides who have posted I have already booked the majority of suppliers but went looking for those added extras (that I can't really afford - but hey ho). Didn't find anything this time unfortunately.
  7. There was that incident outside it I think - a young lad died when another lad punched him - think that has out to do with it?
  8. I am trying to organise 1 of my 2 hen dos. The party one for me and my friends is sorted now I need to tackle the difficult one - the family! I've got Mum, Mum in law, aunties, few friends and bridesmaids, one will be 17. Was thinking meal and drinks somewhere lively - do not want to be sitting in my seat all night! Want to eat, drink and some gentle dancing. Any suggestions of restaurants that will cater for my needs/party? So far thinking Cubana? Or a themed night at Baldwins/Garrison? What do you think? Any ideas? Please help!
  9. I agree with jimboin, Have been a few times, really enjoyed the food. Try the Chicken Parthononas, think that's what it's called, chicken, tomato and feta cheese sauce - very nice!
  10. Hey Yeti, Dark Moomin, Did you get a quote from Mercury? A family friend is picking me up in a vinatge car but don't feel comfortable asking him to pick up my fiance and his entourage, meaning two runs, from the other side of the city. We didn't think of this before and have no money in the budget to cover in. Looking for something for 5 people and very cheap (hopefully he won't have to get a bus to his own wedding!). Any suggestions?
  11. Have you had any luck finding them? I quite fancy having them too but all the websites I have found just tell you how to make them yourself, as if you won't have anything better to do and as if we are all Alan Titchmarsh/Nigella Lawson.
  12. We've been in touch with Sheffield Community Gospel Choir and Rhythm of your Choice who are a company with a selection of bands etc for weddings, they also have a gospel choir. We are just waiting for a demo cd before we book. Found both just searching the internet.
  13. Thanks that is really useful. That's what I sort of thought, so no nasty suprises! Thanks, Liz.
  14. I am ploughing away with my wedding plans for our big day in 2012. I feel quite organised thanks to the forest worth of magazines I have read. However, one thing that I am still unsure about is the cost for the flowers. Can anyone advise me on the average cost for wedding flowers? I have listed a basic outline of what I think I will require. If anyone has recently got married it would be really useful to know how much you ended paying for your flowers. Bride's bouquet 3 bridesaid's bouquets Top table arrangement 10 table arrangements (circular arrangements to fit on centre pieces) 80 single fowers for decoration 20 Buttonholes/corsages Thanks!!
