Can we ask Admin to set up a new section titled “Sheffield United Loans & other SUFC Financial Discussions”. It might free up the rest of the Sheffield Football section for the benefit of those less obsessed. -
He’s in the boardroom

Give it 3 years and you’ll pick one up in a charity shop for £2. They’ll be next to the silver plated Queens jubilee spoons that us kids in the 70s all got.

I truly believe that both Sheffield clubs will not settle financially, or lay a foundation for future sustainable growth & advancement until their respective owners call it a day and sell to more suitable ownership. Both clubs have suffered due to either the ineptitude or financial shortcomings (or both) of their current owners. Effectively its two boys playing with their toys. Until ownership changes, both clubs are facing an uncertain, if not bleak future. -

Waiting now for yet another post about the Macquarie loans……. -
How come you choose to single out my post regarding vehicles? You might like to re-read post 5 where this particular thread was steered towards matters of a vehicular nature. I was merely joining in something cuttsie started. Maybe you should aim your annoyance at the non-relevance to Sheffield football at him, eh?

Oh, for the record, I’ve currently got a 2022 Audi A5, a Raleigh Grifter, and a much used & much loved 1980s Alley Cat skateboard (original rubber wheels, super fast, none of that plastic guff). Whilst I still mourn the demise of The Green Un, I still make the effort to read the sports pages now and again.

Loved the 80s Quatro. That was my dream car as a kid.

No idea why it posted that twice.

Both Bannan and Rohl seem to have raised this in interviews this week. Not a great state of affairs. On the Bannan matter, by way of comparison, I would have liked Billy Sharp to have got one more contract when he was dumped, and most fans would have liked to have seen that happen too I think. he could have done a job as a season sub, but also in the dressing room. It clearly doesn't matter how much a "club legend" you are when the feller holding the purse strings pulls them tighter. The wider issue, though, is that any contract uncertainty is likely to cause concern and unrest in a squad. Not great for motivation by any stretch.

Macquarie loans are pretty common practice in football. Not really anything to get excited about. Leicester, Wolves, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, Southampton, Swansea City, Watford, West Brom..... all utilising Macquarie. Heres a level headed article about it: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/feb/11/premier-league-clubs-australian-bank-macquarie-loans-tv-earnings#:~:text=Now with a portfolio that,an industry where owners continue
