  1. city centre - top of Fargate and meadowhall definitely do!
  2. no1 has been shut for ages. I'd say over a year? it did have signs up about 3 months ago saying under new management but still not open..
  3. Boardwalk is now the Ribshack. There was one in Meadowhall but discovered it's now boarded up. I've never been to Prezzo but have been to all the others and have no complaints, however I'll never visit Bella Italia again after 2 visits were appalling!
  4. our wingmirror has also been smashed. also on kinnaird!
  5. haven't been for a few years but used to be fine. my favourite is the waggon and horses at langsett, if you're in the area I definitely recommend it!
  6. There's a Nisa shop below The Pinnacles - student accommodation on Broad Street, S1. They used to sell the beef ones and at times sold the ham too. I moved out last June so I have no idea If they still do though.
  7. the waggon and horses in langsett is somewhere I've been going all my life. It may be a bit far out but it's a lovely little pub if you're ever in the area with very nice home cooked food with a small menu and you could even go for a walk round the reservoir whilst you're out there. check the opening times though it's not usually open in the afternoon for long.
  8. not that I know of.. the ilkeston travel/co op travel whatever it's called on the retail park near meadowhall is open till 8 on weekdays I believe?
  9. westlife and steps are released on Thursday according to the arena website... I really hope they aren't queing now for them..!
  10. you're not being daft. I've been once in 23 years and only because I had to. I think one of them has now been converted into an estate agent, well 1 of the 3 on that road. have you been through thurlstone? (when you come down the hill from penistone and you get to bridge end with the option of turning right towards barnsley or left to thurlstone/Manchester?) there's a little pub on the left called the huntsman thats nice if youre passing through or feel like a walk. Jess cubley hall is a nice family pub too. I go frequently!
  11. which pubs? old crown/rose and crown by any chance haha. there's cubley hall at the top of penistone which is much nicer :-)
  12. good point! many a time ive stood on the station to hear its been cancelled. although I've become a fan of the 29bus now I've established its cheaper than the train and as I get off at Sheffield lane top/shiregreen area its actually faster!
  13. I've lived in thurlstone (the next village on) all my life, moved into penistone briefly and then moved to Sheffield for uni but my dad is still there. I love the place but to me I guess its 'home'. it is pretty small, not a great deal to do as such, especially if you're used to bigger cities.. but minutes away from countryside. as the person above explained the trains run every hour and it takes about 45 minutes to get to sheffield and about 15 to barnsley. in winter if it snows, it really does snow! good fun though if you're a child or big kid at heart. there's plenty of small supermarkets in penistone plus Tesco which is new so you wouldn't have to go out of your way to shop but other than doctors, dentist, pubs, cinema and a few little independent shops there isn't much else but it is a lovely area and as the poster above said, everyone does seem to know each other! very friendly! if you need any more help feel free to PM me. Jess
  14. I'm sure they sell them in boots.. unless I'm thinking of something else!
  15. give student finance a ring. 3/4 years mine was late...
