  1. Do you work at Graysons jmed? Good luck to you - but your post does look like a bit of obvious advertising!
  2. Andrena: I live in Oughtibridge. It is a lovely place. There are a number of posts about it on here if you search the forum. Or send me a message if you like. Good luck with the move
  3. I listened to Radio Sheffield for many years but got a bit bored of it last year and started flicking through the channels a bit more and discovered there is a whole new world of radio out there! The final straw was when Chris Evans started on Radio 2's breakfast show. That was when I stopped listening to radio sheffield altogether. Mainly because I then discovered Jeremy Vine on radio 2 too. So that was it for radio sheffield - Mr Foster and Mr Robinson are not a patch on their corresponding national presenters. Not sure what wold make me go back. I do agree with previous posts that Mr Robinson does seem to espouse his own views that can be boring. And toby Foster is a bit like that too. But good luck to them. We need a local radio station so I hope it survives the upcoming BBC cuts. But they need to get a bit more relevant to modern Sheffield. It is not a red flag waving commie city anymore.
  4. I've retired but I'm not old enough for the bus pass just yet. Thank you for all the comments and the private messages. Whole new world out there and II'm going to enjoy myself and help out .
  5. I'm sorry I don't understand that comment. What's wrong?
  6. Just realised there is another thread on the Forgemasters. Sorry getting used to this. Will comment on that one from now on.
  7. I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you. Because from what I could see it was Mr Clegg etc that were the ones spinning. And my brief experiences of the Lib Dem party when they put a leaflet out round my way is the same. Load of rubbish. I don't know why they pulled the plug on the Forgemasters loan thing. Seemed daft to me considering it was a 'loan' and not money being thrown away and the fact that it was so little in comparison to some big money stuff. I don't especially care for Mandelson but he was straight forward on the news the other night. Clegg has not been and looks out of his depth.
  8. I live in Oughtibridge. Lovely place. I drive so not really aware of the bus services. Although my daughter uses the tram bus thing, which takes her to Middlewood tram stop and then into the city or Meadowhall. Village could do with a shop that sells fresh stuff but I suppose everyone shops in tesco now so not much call for it. Nice place to live, but not exactly a village anymore as the locals will tell you. More of a commuter belt. Pronounced oo-tee-bridge.
  9. Thanks for that. What I'm looking for. Is there anything like that my end of town (Stocksbridge/Bradfield area)
  10. Enough grumpy old men on here doing that already:hihi:
  11. I've taken early retirement. So not ready for bus pass just yet. Pensioner was my joke.
  12. I'm new to this lark. My daughter got me into the forum. They keep changing which section this is in. Is that normal?
  13. Wish I lived in Dore then. I've got a Rover 75 and bifocals. Does that count?
  14. I'm a pensioner but not a state pensioner. So will leave the woolies and don't get my bus pas yet! But a cheap loaf sounds like a plan.
