I was listening to Radio Sheffield today and there.was an item on the Breakfast Show regarding that all the debt that the Council went into to put on the World Student Games in 1991 has finally beem paid off . Mainly this news item spoke about how much good had come from going into the debt to hold the Games ( ie the Lyceum getting renovated and getting The Arena built etc) however there was no mention about the fact that Don Valley Stadium was eventually demolished and that lots of memorabilia costing thousands of Pounds were left for years unsold in a warehouse apparently. I can remember at the time that there was lots of discussions about whether holding the Student Games was a good idea or not,and i personally think that Demolishing Don Valley Stadium is a good enough reason to say it wasn't .

Hate to say this but Radio Sheffield is getting more and more like a kids run station Ellie is still struggling on the Breakfast Show She makes mistakes,Nick Wilson is really holding the Fort ,without Him it would be even worse Pauline Edwards is always missing and Her show is ok when She's there. Currently Radio Sheffield sounds like High School Radio with a couple of teenagers at the Helm .

Got to say the Breakfast Show which Toby Foster previously used to present is now terrible. No disrespect to Ellie Colton but it seems above and beyond Her ,it's like listening to a School Radio Channel with a Teenager hosted it Nick Wilson who presents the News would have been better presenting it .

The 135 will only run to Rotherham and Chapeltown so there's no direct link from Grenoside Foxhill to Hillsborough. Is it true that First will not have a bus service in Sheffield and only in Doncaster? Sorry if I've missed this on earlier posts i.admit I've not looked fully back.

I might be wrong by saying it was a mugging . Like someone's said I can't find anything since 2019 about Him It would be nice to know just how He is now .

I know that Jimmy Carroll who used to be on Radio Sheffield was sadly mugged in Benidorm a few years ago and was on life support,but I have never heard anything else since . Does anyone have any updates regarding Jimmy please?

He did daily updates during lockdown in Paulettes 's show they used to be around 12 .45 pm each day till around beginning of August

Does anyone know why Parkers Jewellers is still closed? I haven't been on Hillsborough since before lockdown but my Husband says its still closed. I hope the staff and the owner are OK as I've gone in there years and got to know them well.
