  1. Thanks I have found myself on the 1972 section D Quite liked Brother Pete , used to drive a Sports car if rumours were true he left the cloth and drove into the sunset with a blond. He was replaced by Mr Lalley
  2. I seem to recall my freehold was owned by Proctors (I think the old roofing company family )and they contacted me before disposing to Coppen. As there was over 900 years left on my lease and the ground rent was only £4 a year I passed at the time. My mistake the consent fee for my conservatory was not much different to the combined cost of the reversion and the legal fees
  3. Same here it normally works just fine. The only time I struggled was during Ramadan late in the evening ---------- Post added 12-07-2018 at 19:51 ----------
  4. Mercure Leopold Novotel All quite close to each other in the city centre Copthorne Jurys A little bit further out either side of inner ring road Royal Victoria Holiday Inn Hilton Down by the canal basin again a little out of the centre Brocco a boutique hotel at Hunters Bar
  5. Watched Englands 1st 4 games at Blind Monkey last one at The Banner Cross. Both at capacity. The Banner Cross had both rooms downstairs the function room and the garden absolutely rammed.
  6. Blind Monkey but the Beer Garden has been at capacity
  7. The afternoon tea at Marco's on West Bar looked quite nice last week although that may be a bit of a walk
  8. Seems a long time since Sheffield used to have 6 seperate district tax offices as well as a seperate office for the collector and you was able to dealt directly with some of the district inspectors who were quite approchable Keith Renshaw being the prime example .
  9. The Wong Ting operates out of these premises now
  10. I actually mentioned the hygeine rating first , I don't recall saying the food was delicious I did say what I had was good , I also said the place looked tired. The reference to the plethora of Chinese Students eating there would indicate that it's cuisine was popular within their community which is well served by a significant amount of similar nearby restaurants inculing the whole of London Road. If you point me to an English Restaurant thats full of English students I may well go along to see if that's a valid recommendation
  11. It actually got no stars, I went last year for a pre match meal food was good , place does look a bit tired plenty of Chinese Students there though which you think would be a good recommendation
  12. It is indeed a private members club , but membership is open to all I live on the road and have had flyers through the door over the years promoting it, I have myself only been in once on the 28 years I have lived there and that was 28 years ago . It did have a full size snooker table. It is also used for functions a friend of mine went to a birthday celebration there on Sunday.
  13. I suppose that some will not consider The Blind Monkey to be a real ale pub but they should be showing games weather permitting outside in the Beer Garden on their 60’ screen
