  1. It’s going to be called The Blind Monkey and will be opening early 2018 after a comprehensive refurbishment. Their website isn’t online yet but they do have a Facebook page. Veritas is correct, the guys behind The Cadeby Inn pub in the village of Cadeby near Doncaster are behind this pub. The Cadeby Inn has recently won a ‘Best Gastro Pub’ award and specialises in a wide range of real ales, beers, whisky and gin alongside a brilliant food menu.
  2. Hey there, I have visited woodlane and few times and photographed a wedding there a few months ago, 90 will be a tight fit but may be possible. The venue suits long thin trestle tables so more guests could be seated if they are squeezed together, there is also a second barn where additional people could be seated if necessary. It is completely separate so wouldn’t work for the majority of weddings though. Have you looked into catering yet? PJ Taste have catered for the venue before and set up a BBQ outside which is great if you are looking to save costs, I have a feeling they may be able to provide table clothes as well. Some photos from the wedding I covered can be seen here - http://www.tombramwell.co.uk/blog/preview-jenny-adele-wood-lane-countryside-centre/
  3. If you are after a brilliant videographer you really need to check out this guys website http://www.jeffwoodvisuals.com/ He is based in Manchester but travels all over, he's expensive but brilliant!
  4. The steelwork which is currently being erected will be an aldi with car parking to the side of it. (phase1) There will also be a hungry horse pub at the opposite side of the site. (phase2) There are 3d renders and plans on the planning portal if you search using the map feature, I don't have a link right now unfortunately though.
  5. The average UK cost is aparantly £17k, however I have covered several beautiful weddings in sheffield which have costed a fraction of that. Great money saving tip - Get married on a friday or even mid week and you can save hundreds or even thousands of pounds.
  6. There are different types available; you can buy a wash which you simply paint onto walls before painting them with your normal paint, for example this stuff from B&Q http://www.diy.com/nav/decor/decorating-sundries/treatments-cleaners-protection/cleaners/B-and-Q-Fungicidal-Wash-Clear-1L-9190533 or you can just buy paint which has the stuff in it such as this http://www.diy.com/nav/decor/paint/specialist-paints/anti_damp_paint/Ronseal-Anti-Mould-Paint-Matt-2-5L-11348502 or this http://www.diy.com/nav/decor/paint/specialist-paints/anti_damp_paint/Ronseal-One-Coat-Anti-Damp-Paint-White-10299598
  7. My mid terrace house suffers from this issue... Houses built around this time often have solid walls which do not have cavities. This means that heat can quickly escape in the winter months and water can slowly penetrate from the outside to the inside if a particular wall is subject to heavy rainwater overflow for example. I would recommend that you get a builder to have a walk around your daughters house, a good builder should be able to give her some basic advice. How old are your daughter’s double glazed windows? UPVC window frames do not last forever. I personally eradicated the vast majority of the condensation on the inside of my windows by adding trickle vents onto the top of the window frames which allowed air to circulate. I also measured several of the windows and asked my builder to order new glazing and install it into the worst effected windows. Adding new glazing is remarkably simple and doesn’t cost that much. A side effect of the condensation is the build up of mould around the window Jamb which is unpleasant and unhealthy. I have recently stripped back all the paint around the windows and treated the areas with anti fungal paint which should help to reduce/ stop any mould from returning.
  8. Hey there, Im a sheffield based wedding photographer. For me a wedding is a once in a lifetime event that should be photographed quietly, sympathetically and unobtrusively. My style of wedding photography concentrates on capturing the moments and details of your day in a mainly photojournalistic approach. I enjoy being able to tell the story of your wedding as a stunning set of beautiful, natural pictures that will bring back memories of the day. I currently offer two simple packages - a Half Day Package (£595) and a Full Day Package (£895) Stunning individually designed wedding albums are available for an additional cost. Please take 5mins to have a look at my website and regularly updated blog. 9. Does anyone else feel that the quality of the food at this pub has gone down hill recently.. i really enjoyed the food when it first opened but when i recently returned the food wasnt as tasty and the service felt rushed and un loved.. the heating wasnt working either! Its a shame because i see the place failing if they dont keep up standards... 12months time and it'll be back to a normal pub! haha
  10. My advice with regards to finding a property- 1)Buy the telegraph every thursday and go through all the new properties, occasionally little gems pop up, especially in the recent months due to the reccession. A church came onto the Market in near the canal recently, absolute bargain at under 200k, didn't have planning consent for residential use though.. The costs and time involved in getting permission and redeveloping the thing would be... Massive! 2)Regularly check the right move website. 3)Go to aunctions and look out for non residential sales. Once you find a property- 1)make sure you have a big budget to do it up unless you really plan to do it yourself over the next few years. 2)Find yourself an architect who can sort out planning, building regs, listed building consent etc.
  11. Myself and half the staff were made redundant from a Sheffield architects firm 12 months ago this week, we'd previously had both a pay cut and a reduction in hours. Don't be mistaken- the situation in the Sheffield construction industry is still bleedin aweful. I'v got two years experience in the industry and debt from a 6years stint at uni... Oh and still no job to show for it!
  12. Slightly random question here but does anyone know whether redmires is drained at the moment? cheers all
