  1. That's rubbish and you know it. Or you should. Otherwise you've been fooled. Oh the absolute TERROR of having local shops and facilities within easy walking distance! Oh the HORROR of active travel! Oh the CALAMITY of plentiful and efficient public transport! Oh the MISERY of cleaner air leading to a longer healthier life!
  2. If vaccines are the cause of death, they're not 'unexplained' are they?
  3. It's fair enough, they're not the same thing. Mmmmm, Soylent green Weren't the vaccinated supposed to die within two years? That was the most recent bit of insanity I heard. I feel fine by the way.
  4. Mike, someone has to start, otherwise we're all screwed. Any reduction of CO2 will at least lessen the effects of heating above the 1.5C average. Mitigation is what it's about, because there's some seriously bad things coming our way now whatever we do.
  5. Just in case we've all forgotten what these schemes are actually about: Scientists deliver ‘final warning’ on climate crisis: act now or it’s too late
  6. Ah, I wondered when 'rare earth minerals' would come into it. All technology is made from finite resources, including your favourite petrol/diesel cars. There's nothing unique about electric cars in that respect. But if you insist, what else do you propose we should do to keep fossil fuels in the ground?
  7. When? The buses have been privatised since the nineties. It's irrelevant now.
  8. Are you upset by my reference to immigration? It's just one example of how global heating and climate breakdown will affect every part of the planet and every part of the world. My point is that the government's dog whistle approach to refugees won't survive contact with the reality of climate change. The Farages of this world are going to look utterly irrelevant when not just the rest of the world comes begging for sanctuary, but when the climate break down starts to destroy our way of life from our own shores. Who then will let us in? So returning to the matter in hand, measures to encourage sustainable mass transit and active travel must start now and be implemented rapidly.
  9. Because it's a good idea and nothing to do with the paranoid nightmare you're promoting. What are you on about?
  10. Where did I say that? Leave that straw man where it lies mate. The bus companies are using increasing numbers of electric or hybrid vehicles, although there should be many more and sooner. Private transport companies have caused the state of things we endure right now. Their profit motive simply doesn't fit with running a sufficient number of effective services. The rail franchises get nationalised periodically when they fail, only for the government to reimpose their privatisation dogma and give the franchise to another company for them to run into the ground.
  11. there's nothing wrong with publicly owned public services. Certainly the profit motive of private monopolies haven't done any good.
  12. LGBT venues in Sheffield come and go, such as Queer Junction and The Box in the rapidly withering 'gay quarter', but there are still places like Dina venue on Fitzalan Square that are welcoming. In addition, the organisation Andro and Eve promote numerous events in different venues and they're completely welcoming for gender diverse people.
